I was in the same position, I like it but I do not want headset routed cables, ever, it's a ridiculous idea on a mountain bike.
Already answered but yeah I also found out the newer ones sadly no longer have the option to re-route in the frame.
They're very cheaply made with lots of plastic including the cups(!) themselves in the case of the OEM Acros that was fitted to my Sentier. They're certainly not cheap to buy though, the original Across lower I used on one of my bikes was £70 yet the Hope upper (far superior having a stainless...
Just seen a third Across headset premature failure.
One came fitted on my Vitus Sentier, it lasted two rides before seizing up and the lower bearing was made of pure rust inside & out.
One came on my Scott Genius and whilst it did a little better than above, it started creaking like made within...
Headset replaced today, it would seem the creaking has gone but I'm going for a proper ride tomorrow so I'll see then...
Notes: Acros headset arrived with sachets of carbon assembly paste (to help stop it rotating in the frame) and bearing anti-rust assembly grease. A nice touch which helps...
Has it really been over a year? Definitely time to do something about the now very creaky headset that's started feeling weird too. Massive thanks to @bmxmarty above for posting their clever solution but I'm planning to keep the knock block & thought I'd share what I have done/am doing in case...
Hi all!
I'm looking at a couple of bikes with the Yamaha PW-X3.
I've experience with the PW-X2 which I liked however when riding along on the flat the power tended to ramp up & down constantly, which my current Bosch Gen 4 does not do. Does anyone have experience with the PW-X3, and could...

I've just mullet'd my eRide 920 and just wanna say that it's worth doing. Mine definitely feels a bit less 'stodgy' and hopefully I will no longer catch my behind on the back wheel on steep descents! Next step is to get the wheel size set correctly as it was slightly out even with the 29" wheel...
I'd definitely be up for another one! I'm currently persuading a friend who's undecided on an ebike to get one and I'm sure he'd be up for it too. I ride with him regularly at Pines on analogue bikes
Not to go on too much of a sideways rant but I wish Scott would stop putting Twinlock on their ebikes. If I was buying again, I'd avoid Scott bikes because of it.
I removed it from my Genius Eride, but as said above, I can now no longer lock out fork or shock if I wanted to ...which tbh I don't...
Hi all!
I'm currently in the process of building a super cheap gravel bike ready for the summer but need some advice as I've never been into or really even ridden any more road orientated drop-bar bikes.
So far I've got nearly everything I need however I'm struggling with which brake/gear...
Went for a red-route run not on the eeb around 'Pines yesterday, there's a "new" optional loop that I'm pretty sure was part of the off-piste bit we did! Guess it was straightforward enough to make it official lol. Wish I'd fully recorded the ride so I could confirm
Hi all,
Currently building a DIY gravel/commuter e-bike based around a Pinnacle Pyrolite frame I acquired as a bare frame and forks. The rear dropout is quick release, but I'm not sure if it's supposed to fit a 135 or 142mm axle? It measures 137mm and can be either squeezed to fit 135 or just...
Totally understandable being a bit down about it right now, but take it out for a ride as soon as you get it back, you may very well change your mind about selling it 😁
Haha same here.
I did have a look at the headset recently, removed the fork, added a small amount of grease on the races etc and reassembled, this did stop the creaking... for about 10 miles lol.
When I get time I'll work out a suitable replacement including determining if the fork hits the...
