Ark, yes that’s also how things work here, but if Bosch say their software is designed to detect speed signal manipulation and that’s what the 504 error is, I would thinks that’s proof enough? I have nothing but the knowledge that it has not been tampered with. And at the end of the day it’s a...
Paulquattro, they can see from the data downloaded that a 504 code was deleted (or at least they can see something was deleted) and I had no reason to lie so I told them it’s was a 504 error, when it happened and who corrected it, this is why they believe it’s been tampered with.
Am I willing...
Bike: 2021 Trek Rail
Purchased: Trek official dealer Oct 2021 (Australia)
Error: early 2023 (approx 2000kms) 504 error code, reset by same dealer and firmware updated. Code never reappears.
History: late 2023, 3500kms (same) Trek dealer replaced frame due to crack.
Early 2024, 3700kms motor...
Doomanic do you have any confirmation that this was in fact the case?
Bosch Australia is currently denying a warranty claim suggesting my motor has been modified/tampered with (which it never has, I bought the bike new) I had a 504 once, dealer cleared it and updated firmware, code never...
So I was out today and my bike turned off, turned it back on, no problems, 10 mins later turned off again, this time won’t turn on. Pedal out of the park with no assistance (trying the power button frequently, no good) and then once I reach the car it turns on. I ride around for as long as I...
Mine is in for warranty here in Australia, and the solution is replace with a 2024 unit if they have stock or install a 2024 shaft and seal kit and rebuild. Mine is receiving the latter. It won’t be ready for my Xmas mtb trip so they’re sending me another shock to use FOC, great service.
Dave G01, im in a very similar position to you. Was getting 800-1400kms from SLX/XT, on a full fat. Now trying to preserve a very expensive X01 cassette on the SL. So, what stretch were you replacing the chain on the SRAM drivetrain? My local sram faithfuls tell me, put an X01 chain on every...
Absolutely you can, I’m not sure 2kg is a fair comparison, my trek rail (push coil, DH alloy rims, inserts and DD tyres, DH forks and bars) weighs 26.6kg. I understand this is not a lightweight build, but that’s the point.
My KSL (carbon rims and bars, exo+ fr DD rr tyres, no inserts) weighed in...
It sounds like there's a velociraptor stuffed in the frame somewhere ...
To give more info the speedo is incorrect, assists until around 26-28kph displayed speed, but actual gps speed is 38-40kph
Where would one look for the device? I pulled the display out and nothing in there.
Hi all, long time member with a Trek Rail, but just purchased a KSL Expert (and I love it) but just wondering if anyone has added volume spacers to their fox x2? I’m a tokens kind of guy, I’ve put 5x in the 38’s which has improved things but wondering if anyone has added any to the rear...
Thank you everyone for your responses. I decided to bite the bullet and get an SL, a Kenevo SL Expert to be precise. And it’s amazing, it’s fast, it’s fun, and it’s light. It came with carbon wheels and weighs in at 18.2kg.

Yep and some fast bikes are slow with the wrong rider and vice versa, reinforcing the idea I need to try one out.
I’m sensing a solid dose of sarcasm here, are we talking KSL haters because they genuinely didn’t like the bike? Or spesh haters… cos spesh haters gonna hate?
I have no brand...
I know what you’re saying, but that’s not it. Both bikes run the same brakes (xt 4pot) both bikes run the same tyres (assegai/disector DD maxgrip). Honestly my e-bike felt quicker through rough stuff, it’s a monster truck. The Firebird rolled in and out of berms fast, it pumps better it changes...
Thanks Dax, yes I’m aware that there’s more to it than e-bike vs normal bike, but jumping on a bike you’re completely unfamiliar with and going fast says something. This is why I posited the idea that maybe the rail is simply not the best bike for me and the riding I do.
Great to hear the KSL...
Been on my Trek rail (163/180) for 2yrs now, riding is 100% DH/enduro, my bike was unavailable so I jumped on a mates Pivot Firebird for an afternoon. Holy moly that thing is fast - Strava confirmed this.
Are e-bikes destined to be slower DH? Is the Rail just not the right tool for the job? Or...
