I agree, weekend road rides are typically long endurance rides, 4 hours and plus. And roadies are not allowed to wear a back-bag filled with batteries, shock horror.

Thanks, but I'm not a mud expert as I don't ride in muddy environment. I can't give any recommendations really. Personally I've got two sets of wheels, one for trails and mountain paths, then another one for commuting and exploring the countryside. 25-32 psi on both sets.
Distance (range) might not be a suitable measure as it heavily depends on everyone's riding terrain and style. It could be easier to compare riding time, i.e. how many hours of riding one gets out of a fully charged battery.

However, I simply bought a second battery for my Shimano motor equipped Overvolt, absolutely without any coding work in the shop. Bike never complained about unknown battery. It just works.
I think the rear Mudhugger looks absolutely hideous when installed on top of the rear fork, so I put it inside instead, after widening and modifying it a bit with a heat gun. Also cut it shorter.

No need for firmware change. You must first enable Lights with eTube app, then you can switch the lights on/off using the display function.
If the lights are not enabled (with the eTube app), the display light function just beeps, exactly as you described.
