With my work schedule picking up and long days months away I’m thinking about adding a light for some night riding. I can get a quality intigrated light for a good price. Will adding a light require a firmware change? I tried to get to the light function of the setup today and the display just beeped at me. I couldn’t get into the sub-menu.

Thanks.

Try a search on E8000 lights, the guys cover Shimano lighting.

No need for firmware change. You must first enable Lights with eTube app, then you can switch the lights on/off using the display function.

If the lights are not enabled (with the eTube app), the display light function just beeps, exactly as you described.
