Thats fine Sayonara,I am well aware of the rules and yes in finland no problem ,masses of space huge forests excellent ,but this is the UK and the instance I gave happened.
My question is “where is the OP going to use his 1000w” I suppose he will say “on private land”
Sorry,doom and gloom merchant here.
You have just built yourself an illegal electric motorcycle, illegal on the road unless you “choose” the 250w option which being a law abiding citizen you will always do,no doubt.
On private land go knock yourself out, good luck to you.
But if you are on man...
cozzy,on what do you base your statement that “no-one wants a shimano powered ebike”I agree the non service issue is real ,but I have never heard anyone say they don’t want shimano powered ebikes. We all have preferences but I have an ep8 with over 2600 miles on it and it’s been perfect .I have a...
Fair do’s (to an extent)but if you think you are big enough to undercut everyone and eventually be the only player left ,something is going to come back and bite you.
Should maybe have just stuck with selling bike bits.
You’re quite right,I am a bit spoilt for choice and can understand why LBS is not always practical.
It’s nice in Elgin,passed through
last year on a campervan trip
I can get what I want from LBS if not the same day then within a few days,in virtually every case no longer than the time it takes to order online and take delivery.Maybe my Local dealers are just good at what they do but all,3 of them are excellent.
Yep and look at the size of them !
several are joining forces to stop them having to compete with each other.Evans opened a shop close to where I live and have had repeated sales with little success and the shop is not doing well and thats according to the guys who work there.Look, buy your stuff...
Noble has nothing to do with it Rusty,my local shop can price match anything and have been for years. As for kidding myself, read my post.I said I dont mind paying an extra couple of quid for some things.
Lastly ,If buying online was so great then why are the big onlines the ones going bust.
There...
Dead right ,Most of the shops I see going bust are in fact the big on line dealers with outlets, most of our local shops are doing just fine as their customers are loyal to them, and I never have to wait more than a week for a part, most bits are only 2 days which is about the delivery time for...
How about using local bike shops…..sorry but I just cannot understand why everyone wants to shop online,at this rate there won’t be any local shops left.My local shop has never failed to match prices and give me as a loyal customer a discount on everything I buy, from 4 grand bikes down to brake...
My transmission does something similar,Xt rear mech, slx cassette and shifter, doesn’t shift cleanly between 7 and 8 ,to be fair the transmission is original and has done over 2,700 miles now.
I put it down to wear and tear,12 speed tranny’s are pretty susceptible to mischanging in a way that even...
Good for you skinnyboy, yep oil is oil,if it’s good enough for the inside of my engine it’s good enough for my bike chain.I used to do the same with my motorbike chains too. These fancy lubes really are a ridiculous price.
👍🏻
Thank you for taking the time to answer Jetskier,My wifes new bike comes with MT7s but she wants me to put her Hope E4 s on the new bike, she just loves them. That means that the MT7s are going free,I have XT 4 piston calipers on my bike so was toying with the idea of mating the magura calipers...
Just over 2500 miles on the original slx cassette and xx1 chain and still running well.
Wipe the chain clean after every ride and lube with 0-30w engine oil.
Seems to work just fine
All the best
Interesting about the lube.I haven’t removed the chain since I first fitted it to the bike 3 years ago,I do wipe it clean after every ride and then lightly relube with 0-30w engine oil which is what goes in my Honda.
The chain is still going strong at just over 2500 miles or so .
( just for your...
I have just changed the original shimano chainring ( The only part of the original 3 year old transmission that needed replacement)with a burgtec,It meshed perfectly with the xx1 chain ,so on with the show.
With respect to a lot of other riders on this forum I have no idea how they manage to...
Hi sander,I’ve been mixing and matching sram and shimano for 30 years, and never had a problem with any combination,Sram make the best chains, and the XX1 is arguably their best chain,It floats over any cassette Sram or shimano ,I doubt anyone could tell the difference if they rode it blind.
I...
