Unfortunately here in the USA, parents are buying e-bikes for kids left and right, including Surrons. When I was a youngin, on my bmx bike, I was a terror. I can’t imagine if I had an ebike!
I have the Dominion A4 and love them. IMHO rotor brand matters as well. I run 220 f & r. Started with the new SRAM HS2 rotors and thought not bad, but I wanted more power with less hand pressure. Then upgraded to Magura MDR rotors and wow, these made the difference I was looking for. The only...
Bummer, I'm a little late to give you advice. My brother has a Gen 3 Levo set up with the long travel Cascade kit. His motor went out and I let him use my '22 Kenevo for a month. He set all a ton of PRs on the Kenevo, including some climbing PRs. When he got his Levo back, he put it up for sale...
I’ve used Shimano: XT, XTR and Saints, they work well with the Saints being the strongest out of the Shimano lineup. Powerful, enough modulation for me and didn’t fade. Easy to work, bleed and get parts.
I’m currently on Dominion A4s and love them, running them with Magura MDR 220 rotors front...
Bummer, I’ve heard of this happening to other people. Unfortunately it’s not the bike carriers fault. Probably should rename the post to “pay attention to where the exhaust is aiming while using a bike carrier”. The exhaust tip lined up perfectly and so close to your rim.
I think we all find a preferred sized rotor and really don’t think twice about it. I used to race DH in my twenty’s. Close to 54yrs old now. I go down steeper and crazier trails now than when I raced. Todays bikes are so dialed in.
I have 2021 Kenevo with custom tuned suspension front and...
I haven’t read every post so please excuse me if I missed some of your points. I think people here agree with you that if you can lock up your brakes than putting bigger rotors on will not help you stop any faster.
The problem is, while your statement is true under most regular braking, but...
Do you have a Gen 2 or Gen 3 Levo? My brother has the Gen 3. He’s upgraded just about everything on his Levo. Cascade long travel kit with a custom tuned Avalanche Racing Marzochii shock at 230x72mm (180mm) and Fox 38 at 180mm. With all the adjustability on this frame, it’s very similar to a...
Could debris be inside one of the connectors? If you have compressed air blow out both bike side and charger side. The charger tip being magnetized, sometimes attracts unmanned metal debris.
I've had mine for over a year. I bought the Kenevo comp, but pretty much everything has been replaced on it. I've run it 27.5, then Mullet and now for 29er mode. For me both the mullet and 29er felt better then 27.5" mode. This bike climbs as good as any ebike, but kills any DH trails in its...
2nd the Gambit. My 1st full face was the ProFrame. Not a bad helmet, it just never felt like a it fit like a glove. Tried the Specializes Gambit and wow, super breathable, lightweight and it has an adjuster to get a tighter fit on your head. Love that adjuster!
I’ve got a 2021 Levo and had numerous issues: 2 motors and a cracked frame (aluminum) by the motor. Specialized gave me a new carbon fiber frame and new motor but took about a month to get. In the mean time I bought the well-priced 2022 Kenevo and had lots of spare upgraded parts around to...
Simple fix, just upgrade your bike to the Gen 3 Levo;)
I'm in the same boat as you, I have a 2021 Kenevo running GX AXS and love the shifting. If the Kenevo was compatible, I'd have this system in a heartbeat!
Glad to see you come over to this sight. Honestly, this is such a refreshing site to come and interact with after being on MTBR. No ebike hate or regular bike hate. Here for the most part people treat others much nicer than over at MTBR.
It’s sad to see still so many internet tough guys at...
I have two bikes: Levo and a Kenevo.
Both running AXS shifting, Levo has MS with XT and the other XD with X01. Both shift great and no issues with MS or XD. MS with XT is way cheaper than X01.
My issue. With AXS was having two bikes. One with and one without. It would take several minutes to get use to whatever setup I had to shift with. My solution was to upgrade the other bike with AXS and didn’t realize the original shift button was still on the new shifter. But that new shifter...
The area around the college and the other called Blue Lake, just north. The Blue Lake trails are on logging property and are amazing. There are no ebike signs there, just be nice and respectful. Ran across other riders with no issues.
Both are really good bikes. This is just my opinion, but all around the Levo is better, the Decoy I believe is better when pointed downhill. Add a Cascade long stroke kit and now the the Levo edges out the Decoy on the DH side. I don’t believe the new 720wh battery comes stock on the Decoy. The...
