Hmmmm, maybe I will try the shorter stem (42mm) and bars at 760mm. Actually think that’s the only combo I have not tried! Definitely think 780s are too wide for me though. I am 5ft 10 but don’t have a wide reach.

Fuel EXe Trek Fuel EXe Megathread!

So after a bit of back and forth with stems and bar width I have come to the conclusion that the short stem wide bar thing just does not work for me. Back to 760s and a 50mm stem. Just goes to show that we all ride very different and what is comfortable for one is not for another. Trouble...

Looking good. Mine had a crazy big gap. Hope one fits perfectly too with no gap. It amazes me how many left the factory and bike shops like they did. *annoys me that my top cap is wider than the little spacer lol

Reckon plain black bars are the best option against Hex Blue or look at a splash of colour? Not sure what will go with Hex Blue.

Does the warranty on a new motor just cover the original 2 years or do you get a fresh warranty with a new motor?

Fuel EXe Trek Fuel EXe Megathread!

My motor is probably on around 300 miles and it’s gone. Not even lasted the whole uk muddy season. Not good if the bike can’t handle muddy winters as we have them every year lol. The worry is once warranty is up there is no way I am affording replacement motors. Not sure what the...

Update - after LBS went back and forth with Trek/TQ they are sending a new motor. Sadly it takes 10-12 days but least it’s being changed.

Fuel EXe Trek Fuel EXe Megathread!

My lord my bike starting squealing like an absolute pig on my ride today. The motor dying? It makes no noise when bike is off but can’t ride it with motor off as it seems to be in some sort of resistance mode like I am pedalling against the motor...

Fuel EXe Trek Fuel EXe Megathread!

So today had some time so had a bit of experimenting. Firstly my bars were 20mm rise running 2x10, 1x5 and 1x3 spacers. Borrowed my mates OneUp 760mm 35mm rise bars with 42mm stem. Made no changes to spacers and it still feel a bit too high and too narrow. Moved the grips and controls out a...

What are people running their mino links in, low or high for 29s front and rear? Think mine has always been in low, so just wondering what the positives and negatives of high are?

Yeah sounds like a plan. Probably go for the 42mm OneUp stem as doesn’t seem many 45mm ones around.

Fuel EXe Trek Fuel EXe Megathread!

Will try the 20mm rise and if they seem to low get the 35mm. Getting older now so a more upright position might help a bit! Are you running the higher rise ones?

Fuel EXe Trek Fuel EXe Megathread!

Going to try my mates 780mm oneups and 42mm stem. They are 20mm rise so not sure if that’s enough. However I did try higher rise before and front end was a bit loose so 20s might be fine.

Any opinions on the RSL bars? They have the perfect back sweep for me and the perfect 45mm stem length. I have found some for the some for just a tad more than the stem/bar combo I was looking at.

Yeah didn’t think it was right. It almost feels like the motor has not properly dis-engaged. Will have to get it looked at.

Fuel EXe Trek Fuel EXe Megathread!

Think I may have an issue but wanted to check in here first. When motor is off completely whether bike is on or off and I pedal the bike there is a constant fairly quiet (ish) grinding noise and there is a bit of resistance when pedalling, actually at times it felt quite a lot, almost like I...

Nice muddy ride out. Shame the paint work seems as thin as anything and the undercoat is bright white!! Have a few white chips appearing here and there!

Anyone with a Blue Fuel added any splash of coloured parts? Looking for new stem and not sure whether to just stick with black or go for something like hope orange or purple.

The standard wheels? I don’t have any spokes but have a spare wheel if that’s any good for you. Ahh but just seen you are in Germany so probably not.
