Just a few pics to give an idea. These all have Boron shackles. They can't be bolt cropped & cutting with a hacksaw is impossible. It'll take two possibly three batteries in an angle grinder to cut through the largest shackle. The smallest one with a closed shackle is an Abloy 342. The largest...
I don't know how much room you have to play with, but a decent shutter lock may fit. The shackle is enclosed with the shoulders. Don't skimp & go for a Chinese one.
I switch between my two depending on the weather, when it's windy or hot, it's ebike. When it's cooler & still, it's analogue.
I do switch the motor off when it's flat or a slight incline.
I'm not sure why, but I find the ebike easier to pedal on the flat than the analogue. Maybe tyres
Check out Almax chains. I purchased one for my Fiancée's Yam 600. Coupled with a Abloy 362 or suitable Squire CS padlock. Thieves are having an headache. Batteries in cordless grinders run flat whilst cutting these badboys & they have a noise signature. Only way to cut these in an efficient...
The Tannus Armour saved me a walk home recently.
I've been gifted a cycle computer which I was fitting over the weekend, when I notice (what I thought at first was bubble gum) a pink/red line on my rear tyre. It was a cut of around 20mm & it was the armour I could see.
The armour has a slice in...
If they'll fit in the lock housing. Abloy 340. If you want near impossible to pick.... Protec 2 core. IIRC The original Protec core key can be 3D printed.
I use three Abloy 362's on my garage. I'd be f##ked if I lose all the keys :ROFLMAO:
I kept my old ebike until it paid for itself (used for commute instead of driving).
My new one was three times the price of its replacement so Orangutan will be around for a good few years.
A pleasure to ride, I can't me selling.
I guess I'm an odd one out. I had a hardtail that I fitted a kit to, I removed the kit & sold the bike. I purchased a 2020 Zobop, but afterwards purchased an analogue fs.
I use both for my commute, but it depends on the wind
My brakes on my analogue bike were quite bad, but a rough up with a sanding block for the pads & a wipe with brake cleaner for the rotors / pads has made them good again (glazed over).
Eventually they'll need replacing. Any recommendations on brand.... I'm not heavey on my brakes but I like to...
Whatever your argument is. I've signed it.
My first ebike was a kit that I fitted to my current bike at the time. It came with a thumb throttle & would do 25mph easily. Having had it, I don't miss it, for me it was just a lazy gimmick.
On ped ass I couldn't pedal fast enough to get above 20mph...
I purchased a wooden bike shed a few months ago. Moved all my logs, timber & anything of little value into it from my garage. I now have my bikes parked up in the garage. If I lost my keys to the garage, I'd be well fecked. I'm a qualified steel faba & made all my own door locks secured with...
