The law does seem to be on the side of the crim, thanks to Guardian reading snow flake woke brigade. My E7000 has just over 800 miles on it & makes the same noise, but doesn't seem as bad, but that could be your microphone & my speakers making it sound worse. My E8000 with 6 miles doesn't make any sound.

Yes you're right, it's a long time ago. I knew there was something else, but couldn't recall.

Mine wouldn't be a shop, but a pub in a village, in a county. Cockwell Inn, Tillet, Herts. An old one I know, but younguns wouldn't have heard it before.
