I’ve used original recon/dissector in the beginning. They are ok. In winter here in sweden I used specialized Butcher T9 front and rear. Not to funny but ok in winter.
Now I use Vittoria mezcal/barzo and so far very good. Running tubless.
Ordered Raceface NEXT SL wheelset 1555 grams, from Orbeas homepage today. Brake disc included. 759 EUR!
Fitted the new wheels from Orbea. Hope snow will disappear so I can try them out on quite narly trails. Bike 17.8 kg now. (M10)
If money was not an issue I would love Roval Control SL...
Did his motor stop working with the E010? I get a feeling the shimano error system is a bit sensitive. So if the motor continue to work as usual after the error code I would not worry. Also the Error codes stay in the log even if the error disappears.
Get a feeling people visit the LBS to...
I really liked the Rekon and Dissector, but during winter have been using Spec Butcher T9 front and rear. Now I have Vittoria Barzo and Mezcal in TNT ready for spring.
Don’t over tyre guys! Light and playful thats why you chose the Rise right!
Hi, short answer: Yes you can!
The Ep8RS is the exact same motor as EP8. Orbea choose to limit torque and power to gain range. This when they developed the carbon Rise with 360Wh battery to get light weight and the range. I have done several full fat runs with my M10, but range is bad. Now a...
I guess if the LBS replace the motor without entering the RS fw you probably looking at 500W in every setting (eco, trail, boost). So even if you tune the setting to 60Nm (63Nm don‘t think you can adjust to 60Nm in etube when original ep8 mode) it will have peak power at 500W. This will drain...
EMTB or MTB doesn’t matter. They are rated to a system weight of 125 kg. And for my type of riding I think they will work. I do some small 1 meter jumps/drops, but I don‘t press hard in rough berms or jump at bike parks landing sideways. So I guess it depends on riding style. According to...
I guess if you ordered M-team you already in a very light weight wheel territory. The new Orbea wheels seems light. As I’m on M10 2022 I have Alu wheels at 1815 grams there are potential for lighter ones. I’m looking towards Roval Control SL (1240 grams).
Now during winter (Sweden) the Maxxis...
I’ve done it on my with the former motor ep800., but…
The extra power is not night and day. Range loss however is day and night. So the only thing you gain by fiddle with the software is knowledge of the above. I would keep it as is. And the 25 speed limit is not a big deal either as the bike...
Shimano EP8 is probably one of the most reliable eMTB Motors out there. Issues with EP8 systems are more related to batteries, battery connectors, wire harness and power buttons. All these components are bike manufacture specific.
And then we have the cranks (bike manufacture specific) that are...
Orbea MTBs are stiffer, playful and poppy bikes. With this you get more efficiency and fun ride. I guess this it is all about compromises and what you as rider prefer.
Long, slack and comfortable will gain your confidence and feel nice on rough terrain, but could also for some riders fell...
Orbea Rise M10 with burly tires on technical trails at -1 degree celsius from 100% to 0% SOC. All in full boost, acc, torque and assist to max. Full EP8 power 85Nm/500W. Consistent power all down to when controller swapped to ECO mode The last % of SOC. No issues. Same loop in original EP8RS...
Did a spin of 12 km all in Boost 500W/85Nm from 100% charge. On wet snowy tracks at 1 deg Celsius. Ended up with 23% charge. No issues or vibrations.. 2022 Orbea Rise M10 With 360Wh battery.
So no issues but range is the cost!
Tires used Spec Butcher gridtrail T9 front and rear (bought them...
According to Orbea the 2022 H and 2023 H share the same frame. So the form factor of the batteries are most likely the same. And would be strange if Orbea decided to change connectors etc. so most likely you can fit the new 360 Wh battery in the old 2022 rise hydro.
But we old rise carbon...
EP801 is 100 grams heavier then old EP8.
And the new motor supports 600 W. Will be interesting if the RS version of 801 is raised from 350W to 400W?!
EP801, 2.7 kg, 85Nm, 600W (RS version 60Nm, ? W)
EP8, just below 2.6 kg, 85Nm, 500W, (RS version 60Nm, 350W)
540Wh battery same as old H...
Hmm, to me in Robs video the downtube looks a bit wider. Same wide size as old H models? Could be so the 540 battery is the same as delivered in 2022 H model.
With the STunlocker app (iphone) you can set the power back to original values and after that e-tube app will also show max 60 Nm. The main thing is the maximum power. Standard EP8 has 500W maximum in all settings, but EP8RS has:
ECO 150 W
TRAIL 250 W
BOOST 350 W
In STunlocker there is a...
