I've had my Turbo Levo for a little while now and decided to play around with fork and shock pressures. I have a Rockshox shock pump. When I screw the pump onto my Rockshox rear shock, it displays the pressure on the dial before I start pumping. However, when I screw the same pump onto my Lyrik...
Hi. I think it all depends on whether you just want to protect your bike frame/motor from mud, or you and your bike. I know I'm going to get dirty riding in winter, but anything I can do to reduce it helps. You mudguard system does look far more professional than what I have done, but I'm...
I have the 2020 levo comp. I loosened the clamp on the inside of the chain stay, the small clamp behind the shock and the larger clamp just below the shock. The hose would barely move and I couldn't find any more clamps.
I went for the Central Coast design over the SicoMTB because I live in the UK. The SicoMTB design looks wonderful, but the mudguard isn't long enough to cover the rear wheel, so I would get plastered with mud in the winter. The Central Coast + Mudhugger combination doesn't look as nice, but the...
Well, I went to swap over the rear brake yesterday and hit a glitch. The Guide RE use a coupling at each end of the hose with 8mm flats. The Code R only have that coupling at the brake lever end, the caliper end is a crimped connection (it cannot be removed with a spanner). The actual banjo...
The brakes were given to be by a friend who upgraded to hope e4. The o ring was damaged as I removed the banjo bolt from the caliper. I think the thread in the caliper caught the o ring and shaved a slither of the o ring off one side.
You could try the Central Coast Bikes lower mudguard (see photo). This mounts using two bolts on the motor housing. I've then fitted a mudhugger onto the seat stay for full coverage. I bought the lower mudguard from ebay for about £16.
The sram parts manual only state the seals as a complete kit, but as my codes are only a few months old, I didn't think that every seal and piston would need replacing.
Thanks Gary. I do have a local o ring supplier, but the damaged o ring will be hard to measure accurately. I was hoping somebody might know where to buy the correct size from, or know what sizes are needed.
Cheers Gary, I'll give a go tomorrow when I'm at work. Do you know if you can buy individual o rings for the codes, rather than a complete service kit? The smallest o ring on the banjo bolt is damaged.
Hi. I'm trying to service my 2019 code r brakes as per the sram website video and one of the pistons won't come out. When I pump the brake lever with brake pads removed, only 3 of the 4 pistons move. One of the 3 good pistons then pops out and leaks fluid before the fourth piston moves. Is there...
Hi Gary. My guide re have the same style of banjo fitting as the code r. The banjo fitting mounts on the outside of the codes, where the fitting is sandwiched between both halves of the caliper on the guides.
Hi Salko. Thanks for the tip. It looks like if I remove the lower washers only (as per your advice), then I'll only be about 1.5mm difference from using the 20mm p mount. I can't see 1.5mm is going to make any real difference.
Hi Bryan. Thanks for the advice. I guess you refer to that standard 20mm p mount with a 12.5mm and 7.5mm spacing. My existing spacer/adaptor has 14mm and 9mm spacings. I notice from the avid table that the existing lower washers aren't shown with 20mm p mount.
