Just to be clear, I was joking with the components: low-end-Tesco-bike components but with Specialized high prices. I agree with you, however. Ebikes sales are increasing right now and prices are a really high. Too high. Buying a 7000 or 8000€ bikes now, and sell it 1500€ in 2 or 3 years...

Don't know, sorry. But, you can still do it if you want! Simply go to l'Alpe d'Huez, take the "téléphérique" (don't know how to translate this one), go to the glacier, and do the best ride of your life! You can do almost 80% (if not 100%) of the race. Great place to go!
