I created a purely mechanical Turbo Levo speed limit increase

£149 for a start! I think my solution will cost me £30 for a new speed sensor and some bodging and learning time which I will actually enjoy. I have materials in the workshop for prototyping already ?

I created a purely mechanical Turbo Levo speed limit increase

Inspired by this I've done a bot of research and found that the Shimano steps speed sensor is available with a longer cable - long enough to reach the rear hub. I have access to a laser cutter so I'm going to laser some pieces out of delrin once I've had a good measure up and worked out how to...

    Vitus E-Sommet VR

Just for clarity mines a 2018 Deore - I shall be doing the wife's 2018 VR some time shortly and will report back on that but I know there weren't any valves in her box of bits either

    Vitus E-Sommet VR

Mines one of least year's but it only had fabric rim tape and there were no valves in the box of bits. Tyres are marked tubeless ready and the rims have a nice shallow bed with a deep bread hook which makes them easy to seat tyres on.

    Vitus E-Sommet VR

Finally got round to tubelessing my sommet on Sunday. Rims weren't taped ready but a with a run of gorilla tape and some soapy water and it seated fine first time with my ghetto inflator. The tubes that were in we're massive dh things which must be 300g so significant rotational weight saving...

If the outer moves freely it ain't pinched. Maybe the inner is kinked slightly? Does the inner slide in the outer smoothly? Replacing the outer is a motor out job BTW.

    Vitus E-Sommet VR

Dropper cable routing around the motor is tight and the outer may have got crimped in build process - mine had. Does the inner mover freely in the outer? If not your outer may have got crimped too.

Vitus E Sommet on the horizon.....

Pretty sure the outer is continuous through the frame - didn't see any breaks in mine when I dropped the motor. Stainless just means it won't rust if if water gets into the outer. Don't put loads of oil or gt85 down the outer cable before threading through as it gets sticky as it dries and...

Vitus E Sommet on the horizon.....

Hi Pete, how's it going? Have you tried replacing the inner gear cable yet - easiest and most likely culprit.

    Best flat pedals?? Opinions please

Nukeproof electrons are very grippy and slim, in a have to lift your foot to reposition way! Hope f20 feel good under foot, nice and slim too but not as grippy

    Smart bikes are coming.

Fingerprint sensor to enable the motor shouldn't be too difficult to do should it? every cheap Chinese phone had then now so it can't be that expensive can it either! I'm surprised that there isn't a way for the bike to pair with your phone and smartwatch/hrm via Bluetooth and track all of your...

Husqvarna E-bike range looks the business

A lot of the KTM bikes at the cheaper end of the range are made under licence in India too so would indeed be interesting to see where they are made. I've got an Indian built KTM Duke 390 and the build quality is pretty good except for the fasteners starting to rust and the cable routing being...

    Best fit short rider

My wife's riding a small Vitus e-sommet and is 5' fuck all. She manages fine but it would be better a bit shorter and we needed to put a shorter travel dropper on

Answered Help needed - rear brake squealing like a Foghorn and vibrating.

I'm not sure that noise is coming from the frame. My front Deore brake is currently making that exact same noise. I've pretty much nailed it down to pads getting contaminated at the caliper by a bad seal ( Deore are known for this). If you're caliper has a sticky piston that points to a badly...

    Vitus E-Sommet VR

I think the fork is the biggest difference between the two bikes. The Yari is plenty good enough but the Lyrik is really good. The brakes are about equal in power - I think personal preference on the feel of them would be deciding factor. I can't ever tell the difference between deore and xt...
