Strange that the ring should work it's way loose, there is no force on the ring when the crank is tightened and it appears to have Loctite blue as well. I'm going to check mine now!
I did just that. I wanted a Levo SL but there were none within 200 miles so I test rode a Stumpjumper, liked it, and ordered the SL based on that. It all worked out well but it is a gamble.
"How else can you loose 1kg for $1000?" Eat a lot of fiber and take a big dump before we ride? ;)
Seriously, me and the bike are close to 100 kg so to lose 1 kg means I will climb a hill in 9:54 instead of 10 minutes. That's not worth $1000 to me, but if it enhances your ride and makes it...
I don't see the point of carbon unless we are competing. 1 Kg for $1000 seems like a pretty poor tradeoff. I am 5'9" and ride a medium, you may be right at the M/L point.
Yep, regular common Shimano (HG) cassette tool. Praxis told me not to remove the ring so I didn't, the crank came off using only the 8mm bolt. Not sure why your ring came out.
When I went to buy my SL in March the LBS (a chain of 5 shops) said they could not get one but Spesh keeps some for direct orders. I tried ordering direct, their sorry website would go all the way to payment but never let me do the final transaction. A few days later LBS called and said they...
I must have missed the first 99 times. ;)
For the conditions I ride in I probably don't need the chain guide. Does it cause any problems if it is left on the bike?
That was my solution when I couldn't find a SL anywhere within 200 miles. The Stumpjumper M fit ok so I ordered a M Levo SL and couldn't be happier with it (after the switch to 27.5" wheels).
The engineers at the factory do a lot of testing and found that too little torque = part comes loose; too much = broken part. I would not take my bike to a shop that uses an adjustable spanner on a part that specifies a torque.
I didn't, here is what Praxis wrote to me: "Use an 8mm allen wrench and turn the bolt counter clock wise. That’s it. Don’t touch the cap surrounding the 8mm allen bolt. "
I rotated the crank until it was horizontal and put blocks of wood underneath to support it while using a breaker bar with...
From emailing Praxis the lock ring is what the extractor pushes on and it is not to be removed. I removed the right side crank using only the 8 mm bolt, as Praxis recommended.
I just changed the 30T chainring to a 34 T Wolftooth. I emailed Praxis about removing the cranks and they replied only use the 8 mm bolt, do not loosen the large cap (it is what the 8 mm bolt works off of to extract the crank).
A photographer who uses editing software got the same response, "oh, you altered that photo (cheated)". His answer is "just say yes". The accusers will argue with anything else we say but "yes" just stops them cold because they can't argue with it.
YES!
I have read all the posts (and downloaded the spreadsheet), it is helpful but there still seems to be some confusion and differences in interpretation of how the power is applied. I have an SL so at least there are no shuttle/accel settings to think about. For now it seems the consensus is I...
So at 100% if I am putting in 240 W is the motor adding another 240 W or do I put in 120 W and the motor adds 240 W? Also it appears that the "2x" may actually be 1.8x. I don't mind that, I really like the SL, it suits the way I ride and is great fun to ride (90% of the time at 35% Eco).
