The SL is IMO an excellent piece of engeneering by Specialized ✅
I se one major issue with the SL...
Who would You team up with for a ride ?
I have been riding some tours with non-eBikers on my Levo.
They were to “slow” to make the ride exciting for me.
And I could not get my self to ride...
I'm sorry but this is still not correct.
It's still nominal 250 watts measured as “maximum continuous rated power”
Your UK eBike regulation is explained here: Cyclinguk.org
And here: The Electrically Assisted Pedal Cycles (Amendment) Regulations 2015
I sincerely hope You still have to act...
This is not completely right
The EU law says: The motor must only provide "continuous max power of 250w"
So 250 watts are only nominal :sneaky:
But the Brose 1.3 has a peak power of 774 watts at my bike - others have measured about 780 watts.
This is regardless of derestricting the max...
Did the 1-day danish Merida Marathon - 57 km - great experience and the first time eMTBs were allowed (y)
Would love to attend the EX.
@Rob Hancill How skilled do You need to be to attend the EX ?
I also find the SL attractive ?
But I think it will end up like this:
Me not that fit buying a Levo
2 years later
Me more fit buying the SL
2 years later
Me buying the new Stumpjumper ?♂️?
Take Your obsolete 2020 S-Works at 20.5 kg (700wh)
Remove 50% of the battery cells = Saves almost 2 kg = 18.6 kg
Remove tools from the steerer tube
Go tubeless
Change to 2.3" tires with trail casing = Saves 350 g
Get a Selle X-LR saddle = Saves 110 g
Use Your old 34" factory fork = Saves 216 g...
I'm no mechanic  but mounted my MT7s in 2 hours.
Didn't have to drop the motor - Just connected the the new rear brakeline to the old and gently pulled it through the frame to the front.
You can use this small connector: Link
@TomH79
No matter what You should definitely make the trip to Lake Garda
It will be a blast with many tracks, good food and perfect weather.
Only the breakfast with espresso and sweet croissant is not god for serious biking
Your life will be divided into before and after You...
I'm also into upgrading brakes
Got the Magura MT7 brakes
Also got golden inlays instead of the green standard :sneaky:
The brakes work perfectly with the 220 mm SRAM rotors.
MT7s need 2.0 mm thick rotors and the big SRAMs are 2.0 (y)
