I would imagine the new Santa Cruz will be top money and the EP801 with the recent update I’ve seen gives similar performance to the Gen 4 race motor too
I just sold my Santa Cruz 5010 CC custom build with carbon wheels the full works. Had about £7k in the build and it sold for £1750, but had to sell it :(
What rear shock do you have? Saw a 2025 Levo comp alloy and it had the float X factory, this and what is in yours is not to spec. I get the feeling specialized is throwing any bits they can just to move stock.
Yeah it’s not the best spec but you are paying for the name and the knowledge that’s specialized has a good warranty. This all comes from charging more to end user.
This is why I got my Gen 3 I could have got a carbon spectral on or strive underdog for similar money, but there is a concept...
I don’t think it’s too bad and there is a cheaper option at £2,750.
The Gen3 2025 comp alloy is £5,750 and this RRP has been reduced since first released in 2022, I think it was about £6,500.
When released the Gen 4 comp alloy would be around the £6k price same as Gen 3.
I don’t see the Amflow bike being too much of a risk but the DJI motor is, however we haven’t seen the cards played by the big boys Bosch and Brose. Don’t forget the ZF motor too
The DJI motor is rated at IP66 so protected from total dust ingress and protected from high-pressure water jets from any direction.
if we compare this to the specialized motor which is IP56 so protected from limited dust ingress and protected from high-pressure water jets from any direction.
All of the motors will have an IP rating for water and dust resistance example Specialized SL 1.2 is IP67, however a lot of the manufacturers don’t mention the rating because it’s a bit rubbish. Didn’t know if DJI had mentioned the rating on this motor
