Im with you! I have an Ibis HD5 collecting dust after only one ride. I still kid myself I might ride it. Who am I kidding. It’s time for a back up Ebike.
I’m 64, 5-11, 190lbs. I’ve been riding mtb since the mid 80’s and raced motocross until a serious crash at 50 ended that. I’m heading for double knee replacement in the next year or two and had double pneumonia a couple years ago which left me with reduced cardio capacity. I ride for the steep...
Ive been thinking of a coil on mine. I’m a little worried that it will make it less poppy on jumps as Ebikes give up some poppiness on jumps anyway. What’s your opinion?
Ive tried just about every saddle over the years. I have the SQ Labs Active X currently. I did ordered the free sit bones fitting kit from then to get the correct width. They are quite expensive but worth the money for me. It is the first saddle I’ve had that stays comfortable even on longer...
I’ll give that a try. YT bikes are so good in value and how they ride, I can’t understand why they don’t get the plug problem sorted. Charge me another $50-100 if you have to.
That is the one. I did use the washer off the DT Swiss. The OneUp comes with 4 different spacers so you can it just right. I think I used the 3rd thickest one.
I sold my 2019 to my brother and bought the 2020 and it has the same loser cable plugs. The rest of the bike is ??.
For anyone interested OneUp has axles that come with multiple spacers. Using the conical washer off the stock axle it works perfect.
The cable grommets are an issue on all YT bikes. My family has 4 of them, and the grommets won’t stay in the frame. I love my Decoy, but I don’t know why YT doesn’t fix such a minor item. My brother wore right through his derailleur cable because he wasn’t paying attention to the grommets.

I’ve had this issue twice on my Decoy And have figured out what causes it on my bike. When powering on, there cannot be any weight on the pedals and give it a few seconds (5-6) to Allow the computer to completely power up. Zero problems since using this routin.
I am loving my Decoy. I have found YT’s support to be adequate. None of the bike brands are great in my experience.
I just ran into a problem with the e7000 display unit. After charging the battery since my last ride, the display will not turn on. When charging the battery the display turns on...
At 64 I’m just starting to hit the smaller doubles, in the 10-12’ gap range is where I’m at currently. I never expected I would still be able to do this at this age. It sure has been fun. Go for it!
