I guess in theory you could build a 160mm travel fork, that bottoms out at 140mm, so the length of the fork doesnt change when you dial it down.
But! Why would you? One reason to drop to 140mm travel *and* reduce the fork length is to improve the geometry when climbing. A shorter fork when...
Sure, Ive seen that a lot on clear flat stretches (like old railway bike routes). Any reasonably fit roadie will smoke eMTBs. Roadies will always smoke any type of MTB on sealed paths though so...
EBikes arent meant to make you the fastest thing on the road. They are a compromise, due to the...
Bosch motor has limited water resistance. So i tend to keep the (low pressure) hose away from that area *entirely*. Wipe down with a cloth or brush, and focus on keeping the rest of the chainset clean. Then, every couple of month, I will disassemble the chainring, give it a good clean off the...
Me too! My eMTB is a work horse - I ride trails, I commute, I shop. The only time I feel like i need more speed is occasionally on the flat when the road is open and clear. But that's rare, and even then I don't *need* the speed. About town, I'm still far faster than a car, door to door.
IMHO...
Can't think of any reason to go to 20Mph on the motor. That's what gravity is for, and it's even more efficient than Eco mode.
Seriously, the big risk is that we end up like the US where people fear speed pedelecs. 16mph is fine, and if it keeps ebikes relatively under the radar as far as trail...
This leaked a week ago, but I don't think anyone here has posted it yet...
"First of all, the original small sprocket is gone, replaced with mounting hardware for a true chainring.
The housing for the new motor appears to be entirely redesigned as well.
The motor is said to weigh just 2.9 kg...
Would love to see a video of this new kit in action. Your original video using your bearings was very informative but looked like more work than I can handle (no shop press). I assume using the Bosch kit as a starter helps a lot?
What sort of video do people want 'normal people' to make about (e)MTBs?
We're not going to be able to emulate GMBN/EMBN. And I think we have enough BKXC and Singletrack Sampler lifestyle channels.
So what does that leave? Personally I'd like to see more adventure, bikepacking content. Normal...
Some nice, Shimano 'inspired' displays coming to 2020 bikes...
Brose launch three new e-bike displays, with a 3.5 inch colour screen on the top-end model
I do quite a bit of POV, and yeah I do put it on You Tube, but mostly its a quick, raw edit to show my friends (actual, real friends, not 'followers') where to find a new trail and what to expect.
If I have the luxury of time I might add some info to show anyone else who's interested where it...
On my wish list!
Not worried about ultra wide - I usually film in Linear when mounted on my chesty, otherwise I look like I have loooong monkey arms.
Just want to see what the audio connector will be like. Hopefully not like the Hero7 brick!
