I think you probably shouldn't be on the footpath *unless* you've been given permission by the landowner. Otherwise you are trespassing. Totally right that it's then a civil law issue for the landowner to prosecute you.
I mean, I wouldn't camp in your back garden just because you didn't put a...
If you know any footpaths that are easily ride-able and have been used by bikes/horses for some years, go get them reclassified as bridleways. It doesn't seem to be a lot of effort (but probably just a slow process). Well worth doing. You can usually find the forms on your council's website.
I'm using Aviva. They just want to know the value of your most expensive bike (they don't care how many bikes you have), then they provide cover up to that amount, in the home and when locked in public.
Sounds a lot more than you'd pay for adding a bike to your household insurance. You could probably half that cost, if your household insurer has a decent policy towards bikes.
Maybe the motor is covered by warranty, even if the bike isn't?
I'm pretty sure Bosch motors have a transferable warranty. So even if the bike manufacturer won't cover the easy-to-maintain normal bike bits, at least you know you can get the motor sorted out during it's 2 year warranty period.
I have the 2017 Cube Reaction Hybrid HT, so basically the same as your link (diff fork, but still very similar because my old Recon is a TK model too).
I really enjoy it. Would like 120mm fork, making it a bit slacker, and a dropper would be nice. All things I could add at some point.
I mainly...
One of these is the only thing Ive found for seats. There's just no room to thread anything thicker through the rails.
KryptoFlex 525 Double Loop Cable
It's long enough to be secured by the dlock on the rear wheel.
If you can change your home insurance, that's probably the cheapest way. I've had numerous bikes on Aviva, and it's always been easy/cheap. They just want to know the most expensive bike you own, and they'll cover all your household bikes (at home and away) for up to that amount.
Depends on the frame. My 2017 Reaction HT is fine with a 230mm dlock. I assume if you have 2.6" tyres on yours you might have a later version with boost spacing? My other boost rear end bike struggles to get a 230mm through the frame/wheel and a typical bike stand.
I have the long kypto evo2. It's really good for my boost rear end mtb and my cargo bike. On the other hand it's bulky to carry and not as secure as more expensive dlocks, if used on its own. It's good, but not great.
Generally, I've found the cheaper/mid-range (bronze/silver rated) Abus to be far better value than Krypto. But the higher end Krypto seem better value than Abus.
Always a gold rated lock (based on UK Sold Secure ratings).
Even 'gold' rated locks vary a lot in terms of price, weight and security. So I actually have a range of them.
A krypto mini, which is plenty light to carry around, even when I do long epic rides (if needed).
A krypto New York as my...
For cleaning the chain, I'm old school, I just flip the bike over and can then spin 'forwards'. If that's a problem, use a bike stand...
As for de-greasing the chaining, DONT do that on the bike because it will flush all the grease out of the Bosch seal behind it. When that happens, yuk will...
I was going to say for fire track and road, get the cheapest of the two.
That said, the pro has a very basic coil fork. Those things are just heavy pogo-sticks. The Race has a much better air fork. So I'd go for the Race.
The Race's gears are better too, but I wouldn't mind the Pro's 10 speed...
