The discounts might simply be the ongoing inventory reduction that's been happening for all of 2023 so far. Sales have slowed and discounts of 20% or more have been common across most manufacturers. It's a good time for buyers :)
At 5'11" you're better suited to a size L. Having back problems, we adjusted the seating position on our bikes using these: Buy SATORI UP2+ Bike Bicycle Riser Extension Adjustable Stem 1-1/8" x 31.8mm x 110mm | CD
That allows us to sit more upright. Either a 65mm or 90mm extension version work best.
At least for 2023 new bikes can be purchased at a discount greater than the cost of a new motor - takes a bit of stress out of dealing with warranties, should you have a problem.
Cops might be a bit more relaxed when you live out back of beyond? I got fined for having a towball slightly obscuring my number plate AND I had off duty cops with me in the car - they couldn't talk the on duty cops out of it.
Here's the rack with the old car mudguards. I figure if there's a direct line from the car tyres to the bike tyres then stones could hit the back of any vehicle - might save someone a few chips before they realise what's going on.
After transporting bikes for a couple of years I've just noticed a bunch of stone chips in my tailgate paintwork. I think stones thrown up by the car tyres have been bouncing off the bike tyres and hitting the back of the car - not thrilled to find a couple dozen stone chips where there...
That would suit me as I managed to keep the shaft in fairly good shape. I put in a warranty claim several weeks back and haven't got a result yet - mainly claimed to test the quality of Orbea after sales service.
Like you I wouldn't mind having the original wheel as a spare as I've got a DT...
That's certainly full fat, around 5kg heavier than an alloy Rise. I guess most alloy full fat bikes are going to weigh around 25kg though, especially with larger battery sizes.
I'll throw my lot in with the "any strong rim will do" crowd, preferably something not too expensive and bin it next time you smack a big rock. A rim taking hard hits isn't going to fare much differently on an emtb vs mtb. The hubs need a bit more attention on an emtb, though any decent hub is...
Even if it needs a little trimming or alteration the Mudhugger V2 should fit your bike. The tongue does a pretty good job of keeping mud off the bearings on my Rise. I've got the first version on my Cube and rivetted on a bit of old mudguard to act as the tongue - looks ordinary but most of my...
Sounds like you need to take it to a shop or someone experienced in fixing bikes. You need to isolate where the noise is coming from - common places other than motor mounts or cranks/pedals include the seat rails, lower headset bearing, freehub (the part that the cassette fits on). The chain...
Upgraded the Cube stereo 120 forks from Recon to Fox 34 Performance 130mm (1/2 price at Wiggle) and put in a new lower headset. The new fork is 450 grams lighter and matches the bike colours.
I like the Marzocchi Z2 on the Rise for its plushness and hope the Fox 34 will be at least as good.
