Dang it I really fancied their new Phase Evo LE as my next bike :(

    Bikepacking on an emtb?!

I am moving there. Now. If i was King, I'd insit that all EV charge points being put in for cars also include a normal domestic socket or standardised DC output for charging our bikes. Okay, wont see many of them up a mountain in the UK, but would certinaly give us more options for charging on...

The King has no clothes - SL 1.2 Power

Is that on the OG battery in your KSL, or did you bring the battery from the LSL1.2? Could be the efficiency of a fresh battery? Even if it's the OG battery, ambient temperature could account for it. Or other tweaks to the motors - I think Spesh mentioned something about improved efficiency in...

Rail (625Wh) "Cheap" wheels for Trek Rail

On all the rims I’ve had, I find Maxxis tyres the easiest to both fit and remove. For gravel/XC tyres you could also look at Teravail, which were also easy to fit. Had both brands on Spesh’ Roval, Hope Fortus and some on AlexRims. I tend to find a difficult fit is more down to the tyre than the...

New Bosch SX Super Light motor launched

Show. Me. The. Bikes! As i noted in some other thread, I am excited to see Bosch offer this choice. Lots to like. Let’s see what the efficiency is to make the most of 400Wh. And i am a bit unsure of the range extender - doesnt look like it fits in a normal bottle cage, so need to see how (or...

Bosch eBike Innovations - Bosch SX Lightweight motor

First thoughts on the SX motor: Very happy to see more choice from Bosch. 400Wh internal battery sounds about right if this has SL1.2 / Mahle levels of efficiency. A 250Wh range extender *sounds* nice but - if i can be really picky - the unit is perhaps a bit big? I like my 1kg...

Bosch eBike Innovations - Bosch SX Lightweight motor

I don’t need or want full fat assist levels, so I’ll happily take the 2kg weight saving. Same how XC riders don’t buy enduro bikes even though they have more travel.

    Mahle SL 1.1 to SL 1.2 - What's Possible and What's Different ?

Spesh does not need to sell 1.2 motors for a couple of years, because all bikes equipped with 1.2 will be under warranty for that time. I mean, there might be a price list, but good luck getting one unless you're a registered 1.2 owner. They need all this new motors for new bike production runs...

    500w insurance

FUN FACT: My first stolen bike was in the OP's home county, when I was at Warwick Uni. Trek 830, with lots of aftermarket blue anodized bits and a Flight Ti saddle (guess the decade). It was 'secured' in the bike racks with a thick cable lock, but yeah just a cable lock. Insurance allowed me to...

    500w insurance

You're in the UK, right? You dont need to disclosure the wattage usually. It's just a normal UK/EU road legal e-pedelec. There's some confusion about regulation. Legal pedelecs (like Turbo Levos) are 'nominally' 250W, but peak wattage can temporarily be much higher. The EU/UK regulations (and...

Comment by 'SquireRides' in article 'Shimano Cues - New 9/10/11 speed lower tier drivetrain components'

Nice write-up thanks! Always happy to see modern options for 9/10 speed 1x setups. Not mad keen on the relatively heavy Linkglide cassettes but spec'ed as a 9 or 10 speed I guess it shouldn't be too heavy, right? And it's shown with a XT crank in the pics, so I assume I could run the CUES...

    Other Carrying tools and spares

Looks like a neat solution (if you don't slam the dropper right down in the frame). I want something like this for bike packing. Do you find having a bag there, you catch it with your legs? Also, what's the brand/model of bag?

Worn Out Cassette after 280 miles

Something doesn't make sense. OP says the chain isn't 'stretched' but one of the cassette rings is worn. You usually only see cassette (or chainring) wear over the long term when multiple chains have stretched, resulting in misalignment against teeth and wear. What's the symptom you are...

Rail (625Wh) howling brakes like a shrieking banshee

Yeah the pads that came with my SRAM G2 brakes were so so loud. Almost any 3rd party pads are better. I tend to use Uber resin or their hybrid pads instead.
