    Nitros oxide being banned

I found the video absolutely fascinating. Has anyone disproved his science, rather than just disagreed with his conclusions? People can get sacked from their jobs for all sorts of reasons, especially when they disagree with the accepted view. They don't have to be "an old white guy", they can...

Lines on new fork (Zeb) stanchions. Is it normal?

Perhaps it's not "brand new"? I don't mean as in used before. Maybe it has been already rejected by someone else and just returned to stock by some know-nothing.

    Chain link fitment.

I don't remember ever seeing that piece of info written down, it just looked right! :) It's only on the upper jockey wheel that it is "upside down".

New Trail at Sherwood Pines, UK - really tough

Sorry to disenchant those who loved it, but was an April Fool's Day spoof. I thought the mosquitos and the American accent might have been good clues, especially when he said he was alone.

New chain + old cassette = useless 1st gear

When that happens, I put the old chain back on and run with that until shifting becomes a pain. Then change the cassette and chain together. Then keep an eye out for the front ring to fail!

    Scandal in the FoD

It says a lot about what the emtb community thinks about the illogical and all too prevalent "e" hate that the post was so readily believed! But the practicality of it all started to become ridiculous. Running a 13 Amp supply 3 miles through the woods? Bikers carrying a heavy charger with them...

SRAM's new 2023 Drivetrain allows full power shifts

It depends upon which time zone you are in. Zimmer is in France who are an hour ahead of us. Therefore, his post was made on 1st Apr after all.

Looks like you have a very good case! :)

    Nitros oxide being banned

I agree that CO (carbon monoxide) is toxic, it binds to your red blood cells and you suffocate slowly as your blood cannot transport oxygen. CO2 (carbon dioxide) is a different gas and although too much of it will kill you, it is not actually poisonous (at normal temperature and pressure). I had...

Lines on new fork (Zeb) stanchions. Is it normal?

Those lines are scratches and they will trap fine debris that will get carried past the seals and into the fork. You do not want that! I'm willing to bet that the seller will say it was fine when they shipped it! :(

Bike bought 1,5 years ago as new, manufactured in 2016 - motor out of warranty???

Give the good dealer some free publicity here. :) Whether you give the bad dealer some bad publicity is up to you.

New Trail at Sherwood Pines, UK - really tough

I was at Pines yesterday with a mate new to the area and as usual crossed over the railway line next to the Blue Trail and into the National Coal Board area. Press on through that, cross the tarmac road and it starts to get a lot more rugged. I went a different way to usual and came across a...

I don't believe that I have ever had muscles like that on my arms, well not since I was in my 20's!

    Seatpost sinking during cycle

Just out of interest, what sort of wood and where did you put it? I can only think of two options: 1) Something really thin to act as a shim. 2) Something smaller than the seat tube diameter dropped down the seat tube to prevent the seat post from dropping too far. Both of these are what I...

    Seatpost sinking during cycle

If the seat post is 30.9 and the seat tube is 30.9, then you should not have a problem. Is the bolt that tightens the seat clamp across the slot at the top of the seat tube? If not then move it so that the bolt is across the slot. That should do the trick. Some fibre gel like this should help...
