I'm building up the frame this weekend, Transmission is being moved from another bike. I knew about the chainring when I received the frame so tried to source a t-type version (Eagle Transmission E-MTB Chainring 104 BCD - CR-TTYP-104-A1 - SRAM) which turned out not to be compatible with the...
So this chainring is not supposed to be transmission compatible. I suspect the issue here is that the bikes were build before transmission was available. Specialized are looking into it for me and I have asked SRAM to comment on the compatibly of the X-Sync 2 chainring.
Has everyone had their bike supplied with a SRAM x-sync 2 eagle chainring? Asking as this chainring is not supposed to be compatible with Transmission according to SRAM.
Eagle Transmission T-Type chainrings are compatible with Eagle chains, so they can be used on Eagle Drivetrains when mounted...
I had the same problem, washer (J) was missing when I removed the chain guide. What Specialized had done is added an addition two (H) washers to get the spacing correct. I came to the conclusion that if the (J) washer had been present then the pin (F) on backing plate (A) would not have located...
Any potential weight saving would be in the cranks which aren't relevant here. You really only pick XX over X0 due to the silver vs black finish, functionally they are identical. I think my X0 with discount came to around 1k. I got back approximately £500 from my old groupset. Was it worth it...
They are identical apart from the front cover and buttons. POD ultimate comes with interchangeable convex and concave rubber buttons, regular POD has plastic buttons which I preferred.
You can change the front cover on POD standard to become POD ultimate for just over £20...
I went XO as if I'm going to spend more money it has to have a tangible benefit beyond pure cosmetics.
I went XO as if I'm going to spend more money it has to have a tangible benefit beyond just cosmetic differences.
Yes same PODs on both sides, it doesn't really matter that it has two buttons on the left side as I just program both buttons for the dropper.
I also prefer the feel of standard POD to POD Ultimate...
After over 3 years using the original AXS controllers, initially I was not impressed with the new POD controllers. It was only after I went back to the original AXS controllers after using the PODs that I realised their key advantage. There is far less chance of an accidental gear change...
I think that's the key point, you make a saving even when you price up the parts at RRP. In reality though, you would never pay RRP as there are some big saving to be had on parts if you shop around...
I don't know about pricing in other countries but here in the UK the frame only option seems to represent the best bang for your buck. Once you allow for the range extender (included with frame only) there is nearly a £5,000 difference to the Pro and £7500 to S-Works.
No way it would cost...
MY23 received an update in the form of a new crown with updated design and engineering for more steer tube overlap, improving durability and maintaining stiffness while dropping 20 grams.
I believe the change was introduced to help eliminate the dreaded csu creak.
Question to any S-Works owners, does the Fox 36 have a regular or e-bike chassis? Maybe you could share the output from the Fox website if you enter the serial number of your fork?

My local dealer phoned Specialized UK today to check on availability of frame only option, they were told that this years allocation is sold so expect deliver in 24! Feels like we are back in COVID times...
Since there’s no derailleur hanger anymore, the XD driver body’s end cap sits directly against the derailleur body, not a dropout. SRAM moved the cassette outboard 2.5 mm to make up for that.
