I previously owned a Gen 3 Levo and now have a Gen 2 SL. I wouldn't say one was better than the other, just different. They both have strengths and weaknesses, the FF Levo is considerably more powerful and arguably quieter under most conditions but it's very difficult to push beyond the limiter...
I find that it's particularly noisy in low gear high cadence situations and get's much quieter as you move to higher gears. The noise on my Gen 3 Levo is pretty consistent through the gears, aside from the bulky look of the FF, I can pass people without them realising it's an ebike. I can't say...
GX or X0 are the ones to go for. I prefer the placement of the battery on GX. If you want the magic wheel, you can upgrade on both GX and X0 for around £50...
Agreed, when using the range extender I'm getting similar range to my Gen 3 Levo with 700W battery. Much prefer the feel to FF Levo.
The only slight negative for me is motor noise, I find the Gen 3 Levo to be quite a bit quieter in most situations. I never owned a Gen 1 SL, can't imagine how...
You need to order the following:
00.5318.007.004 - POST BRACKET - 20 P (FRONT180/REAR 160), INCLUDES STAINLESS CALIPER MOUNTING BOLTS (CPS & STANDARD), INCREASED DEPTH FOR FITMENT OF ALL CALIPERS INCLUDING GUIDE ULTIMATE.
I haven't noticed any rattles etc. whist riding but if the chainring is rotated backwards whilst stationary, it's definitely makes a lot more noise than a FF Levo.
At first no, I thought I didn't like the ergonomics and they felt a bit cheap! After using them on a couple of rides I then went back to the original controllers, it was then very evident why the POD's were better in almost every aspect. They have a far more positive feel to the buttons and it's...
I use SRAM Codes. Maybe I was just lucky as they fit perfectly on the inside of the brake clamp. I've used matchmaker mounts for years, always liked the clean looks and the placement of the shifter was fine with both mechanical and AXS shifter.
Like you I was disappointed that SRAM didn't...
I had figured out prior to install that I needed 120 links with 36T when in low. I initially cut to 120 links and tested in high to see if it caused any issues, no problems, so I left at 120. I've also heard other folks saying that they run 118 in low and high without an issue...
A good reason to go with the 36T chainring is drivetrain wear. According to SRAM, for every two teeth you add to the chainring you can increase the lifespan of the components by approximately 50%.
The brose groupset is not 100% compatible with the Gen 3 Levo. Both the included cranks and chainring will give you the wrong offset. You need to buy the 104BCD groupset...
Yes I should have said, this was my experience on a Gen 3 Levo. I've only used transmission on Gen 2 SL so can't comment on original AXS on this bike.
I personally wouldn't bother with SRAM wireless (inc Transmission) shifting on a FF ebike.
