If your firmware is 1.1.0.0 or later and has EMTB mode it should be 85Nm.
You can check the firmware of all the components by (with the bike powered off) holding down the plus and minus buttons on the controller and then pressing the power button. It will scroll through the various components...
Trek battery alignment is pretty simple to sort out. I added a couple of pieces of high density foam rubber (one minute job and about $5 for a roll of it) inside my (2020) Rail to lock it in tight and have had no rattle since.
If they changed the (pretty ordinary) Bontrager tyres for something better, one imagines it would have scored much better. A pretty simple and relatively inexpensive fix for prospective owners. What was more or less the same bike won the same test last year.
Agreed. I swapped my stock wheels on my 9.8 for carbon Light Bicycle AM933 rims on DT 350s because I wanted better lateral stiffness. Any weight saving is just a bonus. Also because the Bontrager Line Comp 30 rims kept breaking spokes.
I've just binned the SRAM Guide RS Carbons on my S-Works Enduro. You'll need a bleed kit to complete the installation of the rear brake as the hose needs to be detached to thread through the frame. Bonus is you'll have a bleed kit for ongoing maintenance.
It was my first time fitting hydraulic...
I ride everything from super easy XC trails or rail trails to full DH trails on my Rail all on 2.6 Minions working on the principle that your tyres should be set up for the most difficult conditions you will encounter. If I was doing regular riding less challenging trails, I'd investigate...
5'10.5" here and have been riding a L Rail 9.8 for two years now and love it. Could probably get away riding on a M but I like the stability of the longer bike on steep tech. Bike jumps like a dream. Trek really need to make a M/L for the Rail. I think the new 2022 Rail 9.8 at 490 reach would be...
Not carbon wheels but had the same issue with the Bontrager Line Comp 30s on my Rail 9.8 and I only weigh 75kg. Another riding buddy had the same issue with the same wheelset on a Slash 8 though he is closer to 120kg. I replaced them with a set of Light Bicycle EN933 carbon rims on DT Swiss 350...
