Thank you Gary.
Change from the OEM Bontrager to DT Swiss 36t was huge. Upgrade (unnecessary or not) to 54t is interesting. Would be a good option to do it at same time if changing from HG to microspline or millionaire style XD.
The topic is good and it has potential containing valuable information but now it's just internet battle after first 3 messages.
I wonder where's the thread deleting moderator now?
Just replaced my Rail 5 stock hub with DT Swiss 240s. After 200km there's grooves in the HG-driver. Could be also that the grooves are in the painting/coating. The play between the NX cassette and HG-driver is much bigger than in my previous Bontrager lowcost hub. Seems to work, but I'm a...
I don't recognise any reason to change my full suspension bike to hardtail. If I try to ride with my rear shock locked the bike feels awful. The weight seems to be no problem. It would be almost as crazy idea as to ride without dropper post.
How could HT define better the requirements for...
I have Mudhugger Rear Fender Long and Rapidracer Products Proguard front fender.
The rear fender has been absolutely superb. I'm planning to add a small additional part to protect the rear shock and frame. The front fender works well with the Cane Creek Helm fork.
What are your latest thoughts on Bosch eBike Connect? Does it add some real value compared to for example Garmin Edge 530?
It seems still to be a touringstyle app with crappy useless navigation and it can't upload all the same specs as Specialized Levo can do through Edge devices to Strava...
After 1200km and mainly stored and washed outside the headset bearings of my Trek Rail has come to an almost end. The lower bearing doesn't seem to have any protection from weather. When I bought the bike I opened all bearings and filled them good quality grease.
I think I'll clean the headset...
That's a nice color.
Interesting to see how long the Rail 5 components lasts with you. Besiders frame, handlebar, brakes, dropper, front sprocket and rear shock I've ended up to change all else.
It's really interesting to know what technically happens inside the motor when you hear the sound. Maybe the Bosch Performance line CX Gen 4 has just been too reliable that "no one" has had a reason to disassemble the motor. If it would be Brose case, then we would aldready have hundreds of...
Has anyone seen pictures of parts inside CX4 motor? Does it make sound if you shake it?
If it would be the drivetrain (chain etc.) then the problem would be much much wider including analog bikes.
Btw. I started to head the sound again now that I have read this thread. :geek:
As a still bit rookie rider I often find myself riding standing up (might not be correct english expression) and I've forgot to lower my seat when approaching a decline. Would be handy to just press button without first sitting down, pressing button, releasing button, standing up.
I'm just...
I was thinking about buying an electric dropper post because I thought I can drop the saddle down just by pressing the button. I'm a bit surprised that this is not possible with even 600 eur component. Of course it's always possible that I'm the only one with such requirement and my requirement...
