After I got mine two mates bought the lower spec model ( povvo spec!). I knew they'd crack....
They have both changed the brakes to Guide RE. One has changed the wheels and tyres and upgraded the fork to 2019 air spring and new charger damper, the other just has the air spring on order , think...
Ta. Just in case it wasn't clear air spring is for the Lyrik. Yeah a coil spring is tempting but the Super Deluxe is so good hard to justify for me. I'm sure a coil would still be better though.
Might just change the order to a 180mm spring.....
I've been busy tinkering whilst laid up, here's a couple of garden photos
List of mods so far;
170mm Reverb with paddle remote
SC6000 mode selector
SQ labs 45mm rise 12 degree sweep bars
XT shifter (just because I had it but it has had something wrong with it from new in that it's very...
I think the Commencal is closest to the Vitus in terms of geo and I would guess ride feel. Vitus bit more travel, Meta coil shock. Vitus is a lot cheaper for equivalent spec though!
My recent pedal strike left me with a broken neck. When recovered I have fitted 165 XTs in place of the standard 170s. I have a 36" inseam so didn't want to go shorter. Anyway mine was more not looking where I was going more than anything else.
Anyone interested in a set of near mint e800 cranks?
Thanks again Tori. How did she revert to the earlier firmware?
Also how did she get hold of the emax software? Apparently it's not available for sale ( over here at least) any longer
Answered my own question - text says separate license for each bike. Unfortunately it also says Shimano purposefully borked it with the firmware update to 4.3.4 in January (as well they might) and so they don't sell the software anymore, bah! I assume your partner's bike is still running...
That is very interesting indeed Tori, thanks. Do you happen to know if the software works on multiple bikes or if you have to purchase a license key for each one? I did try the enquiry form on the website but it got bounced due to anti-spam software for some reason. I have a couple of friends...
It's in the July issue, don't think it will be online while the mag is still on the shelves. I won't post photos of it as could cause issues for the forum/Rob, obviously they want to sell some copies!
Thats MBR for you though, always lower, slacker, longer! One of the reviewers was complaining that his Lapierre is "old-school" and riding it was fun because it's always on the ragged edge. OK it's not a Pole or a Geometron but it's an XL with 66.6 HA, 74.5 S.A., 483 reach and 430mm chainstays...
Yeah, having smashed my flat pedal into a tree stump and breaking my neck in the crash I have moved back to spds so have bought saints and have some 165mm XT cranks on the way (to be honest I didn't see the tree stump but good excuse for injury time upgrading!)
Someone posted a link to a Bosch magnet that clips across two spokes and looks to be a lot more secure, will see if I can find it. A French shop had them in stock
If you read the MBR review it's clear they think the Vitus is one of the best. The only negatives they mentioned are clashes with...
Mate in Oz bought a Commencal meta power and had to order to the correct weight spring from the USA
When spending ebike money I'd expect the dealer to supply and install the correct spring as part of the deal. And at £94 you're paying for the name and the yellow paint!
I have SQ lab 12 degree sweep 45mm rise bars on my E-Sommet. They are very good but mark easily and pricey for alloy bars. Couldn't find anything else that fits the bill at a decent width though. They also do a 16 degree sweep version
If you can remove the battery it should be ok - I have test mounted my E-Sommet on a 598 last week and clamps fine (XL bike and 598 is long enough too), not tried in anger yet.
Pipo- do you get much movement at speed or round corners?
I also bought a folding plastic step about 400mm high off...
