Here is the thread I was referring to
One of the members of the EMTB forum has worked out how to service the motor. Full instructions, plus picture are in the following thread.
STEPS E8000 Motor Service
@Messy Shimano advise that their motor is not designed to be repairable, not surprisingly they don't list any spares or details of any kind.
If someone has dismantled a motor, they will have determined for themselves what size bearings are required. You have the opportunity to copy them and/or...
Why not open it up and practice on it? There is a seriously long thread on here all about repairing an e8000 motor. It has all the tricks and learning points, lots of photos.
You never know, you might end up with a spare motor. :D
I hope that clears up soon. :)
Got my chest infection early Nov, worse at night, had to sleep sat up. Then when that seemed to have cleared up, I got a dry cough that once I started to cough it seemed as though I couldn't stop, needed a drink of anything cold to make it stop. The rain has been...
Check the Rockshox spare parts catalogue to see if it will fit.

Page 3 will give you the page number of your Lyric damper. Then go to the Pike section to see if the same...
@Ou812 Don't take the piss, mucky the bike up a bit before you bring it back. You must have mucky tyres!
A number of years ago I borrowed my father-in-law's video camera when I was going on a works outing to Holland and back for a long weekend. On the way back on a quiet Sunday evening in...
My standard drive mode is Trail (I have Eco, Trail, Boost). I also use the other two; Boost when necessary, Eco when I can.
If I wasn't in Trail most of the time, then I wouldn't be riding. (Effin' arthritis!)
Refusing to have sex with my wife until I get a better service/product won't work. I doubt that if every man in the UK joined me in this act of self-denial (cutting my nose off to spite my face) would work either. Men would give in before the women did.
Joking apart, I suspect that as noble as...
Maybe I'm getting weaker as I get older?
Correction: I am definitely getting weaker, effin' arthritis!
The inside diameter of the grip is definitely tapered, maybe the narrow ends of those particular grips were at the smaller end of the range occurring during production?
Not even my...
I am an apprentice-trained mechanical engineer. I have no problems with powered hand tools and operating machinery of all kinds. It's just chainsaws I don't like!
There are so many people around where I live that have their own chainsaw that I don't need to buy one. As soon as I need one, then...
My grandson had some DMR Deathgrips bought for Xmas a few years ago for his new bike (also a Xmas present). He didn't realise that they are supposed to be hammered onto the bars (nor did I), so until they wore out his bar width was wider by 20mm per side! If you hammer them on, they need to be...
I have never even wanted to try a chainsaw; they look too bloody dangerous to me! The guy that built my house was an experienced chainsaw user, but he still managed to cut his leg off with one! Consider taking a lesson from someone that knows what's what; you know it makes sense!
Cutting...
I have come across more than a few riders who have bought an EP8 driven bike and never had it explained to them that they can tune the motor with the Shimano E-TUBE app. They probably bought the bike on-line; in which case they did not get the customer service that an LBS would supply.
I can see...
Why are you changing from tubed to tubeless?
I have been riding tubeless for over ten years, so I'm a fan.
Are you unhappy with the grip that your current tyres are giving you? (too much, not enough). Are you getting too many punctures?
You do not have to buy special tyres that are...
