I have a 50watt flexible solar panel on top of my trailer. In a box in the bottom I have an mppt controller and two 12volt lithium batteries for a total of 42 amp hours. I also have in the box a Bosch travel charger running off 12 volts, and a three way mains extension. If you can't get the...

A hybrid bike for touring
A recumbent trike to couple with my husband's trike to force him to get out of his armchair

Hello Kay
I'm sorry, but I don't think anyone here will be able to help you without a lot more information. Did you buy it new? If so, then yes, go back to the shop or email the seller if you bought it on line.
I'm really only saying the same as Acousticmood did, I know, but I'm trying to be...
Sorry I wasn't saying that you can derestrict your bike yourself. Just saying that faster bikes are allowed, but not under the same rules. Yes, they do have to be type approved. No, you can't ride then on bike paths.
Actually, unrestricted e-bikes in France aren't illegal. They become motorbikes and the rider must wear a helmet, have insurance, and not ride on bike tracks. The fine is really for riding a motorbike uninsured.
Personally I find 25 kph perfectly reasonable. Remember, on public roads and bike...
Well, sorry to have wasted your time. He has a problem that means he won't be riding the St James path after all. But I did learn a lot about gear ratios. Every day a school day.
Thanks for the links. Wrong country, though. He will be riding in Spain, might take the trike home to USA after, though. The Jorvic wouldn't work, it's an upright. Think we might have a deal with a shop. I'll update when we know more.

I forgot to say, this would be a recumbent
Ok, some advice needed here. It's about gear ratios and climbing hills without EVER having to push. So, I'm looking for a trike (has to be a trike) for someone who wants to do Camino de Santiago which includes crossing the Pyrenees and a couple of other decent hills. He has balance problems and...
I know the feeling Trying to change the pedals that were put on by a gorilla. Think I might go for a ride to the bike shop. Will have to buy something though, rather than just turn up with stuff I got at Decathlon. Hmmm. Now what goodies do I need?
Well, no, actually I don't. I take the bike with me on the back of our van on holiday with ancient husband but that's more for shopping and visiting places without having to find a parking spot. My riding is rather bland compared to most of you, gravel and grass, and either around home or...
I stayed at a bike friendly hotel in Spain that had a section of the already secure garage reserved for bikes. Tools, compressor, lockers, parking stands and even a maintenance stand. My bike didn't need washing but I expect there was somewhere for that. Lockers for clothing and bike stuff, with...
