As far as I know the Bafang arms are nothing special. There are plenty of people who have either replaced them as you did, or even cut the originals down (which I'm thnking of doing as 1: I'm short and 2: I'm sick of bashing cranks). That said, it is conceivable that changing the crank length...
Like a few people have said, I don't think it's really practical to make the whole thing watertight, it's just the nature of the beast! I am intending on adding some black silicon to the cable entry ports near the headtube, and I have given things a good spray with acf50, but ultimately I...
Second one is pretty close, but doesn't quite match the dimensions of the e10 battery, though it's a hard thing to measure. Visually looks bob on though.
EDIT: Was just one measurement that looked odd, but measured it again and it does appear to match.
Found another reference page for M600 specs here. Turns out it's not 3 amps, but 3 watts, which correlates with the 500mA output on the USB port of the display. Bum.
Has anyone experimented with lights wired into the battery of the E10? I know that there's a USB output on the DPC240 display, but the current supported by that output (500mA) seems way too weak to power a light. A version of the display cable that plugs into the motor with an additional 6v...
Hmmmmm.....that's got me thinking!
I wonder if it would be possible to design something (and print it) that sits over the cable ports, and some kind of gasket, to seal all of the holes that enter the frame, including the gaps around the cables? We could use the 'spare' holes to hold a nut and...
What plugs are you using to fill the unused cable holes near the headtube? I've been searching all over for something that would fit and keep coming up dry. Was going to 3d print something, but hard plastic doesn't really feel like the right material.
Love the build though, good job. I...
Funnily enough I've just received some acf50 from a relative who restores vintage motorcycles. It's not in a spray bottle though, so I'll have to find a small one to use.
Now I've Googled replacement switches I've got a real fancy for an illuminated switch. Now that would be nifty ...
@Eclipse MTB I think the point is to have a headlight that is powered directly from the bike's battery, rather than to use the bike battery to charge a battery on the light.
If the daylight sensor on the display works as I suspect then it should even be possible to have automatic healights on...
Praise be to James Dyson for his incredibly powerful hairdryers.*
I believe @furk was absolutely on the money; the area above the battery where the isolation switch is located must have had some lingering moisture in it, as blasting that area with Dyson's finest appears to have resolved the...
