    Motorcycle stand style for eMTB

I made a couple similar - a bit rougher than yours out of some old pallets but put 3 cheap small castor wheels under them & they're brilliant as you can move the whole bike around the garage & not have to find somewhere to lean the bike around.

    Trek eMTB Survey

All due respect Terrence but we don't ask our old girlfriends/ boyfriends how we did as partners do we? We don't really want to hear about our faults. In my job I spend my time replacing electrical fixtures from long established manufacturers & over time I have reluctantly developed a low...

Part # 1: Shimano Brake System Service

Sometimes, a small pocket of air can be trapped inside the syringe hose and the caliper bleeder nipple. If you were to push on the syringe plunger, it would push the air pocket into the brake caliper and cause issues. You want to avoid doing this. To prevent this from occurring, you should pull...

    De-mullet a mullet?

Looks fine. I wouldn't have picked up that it was once a 29er & tbh the mullet version looks a bit weirder in compariason, the 27 front keeps it more balanced looking.

    Trek eMTB Survey

Good survey. As my rides are only about 15kms long I'm all for battery's being split. Do you think there'll be an option later on?

    Rail Mullet

Good write up & I agree with a lot of what you experienced. I've only had a few rides lately since mulleting but my initial impressions are that it def is the right move for me. It feels like a completely new bike, one that has really excellent features & other features that while aren't bad...

    Trek Rail 7 2022 Tubeless ?

Massive difference in ease of tyre change with the bonty tape removed. I've just gone to a DD on the back from a exo+ & cc & don't know if I'm going to put a cc back in- they're pretty grunty.

    Cushcore + New Tire Installation?

Heaps of videos on youtube. Add the sealant after like normal either from the side or valve. I didn't find the cushcore difficult to work with just the new tyre but depends on your rim some make it very easy & others harder

    Trek Rail 7 2022 Tubeless ?

And don't forget good grunty tyre levers- not the nice small lightweight ones left over from the D grade road cycling series you did in 1993 that fit nicely in the bottom of your waist pack.

    Not a spesh ad. SHIMANO

Rude Rock!!! my favourite track in NZ. The views of the lake from the top are awesome. You can take the whole family down it then leave them at the bottom while you go back & rip it up. Those masters boys aren't too bad on a bike either.

Kicked out of my regular ride by wildfire

Good call. Pretty sure they wouldn't be cool with a warranty repair for fire damage.

    2022 Santa Cruz Heckler

I love the SC colour pallet. Great looking bike.

    Rail Mullet

Thats a good point. You're correct the rear axle wouldn't be affected by the mino link. I'm wondering if I took the pedal height difference & assumed the axle would be raised the same amount. Not a particuarly sound scientific method!! I have installed my new final rear wheel so will see if...

    Another Kiwi Rider

Maybe we should move our mullet results acros to the Rail mullet thread in the Trek section. It would be good to compare how others are finding the setup. With the crap weather, local forests closing for harvest & a dose of the devils plague I haven't had good chance to try mine out. I'm...

What bike are you buying next?

Have you already got the motor? I went through that process & found it wasn't worth it. Good fun project though

    Another Kiwi Rider

My bike shop told me ther is only one machine in NZ that could change the settings for my mullet & they prob wouldn't do it because i can change back to 29. Sounds ridiculous to me so taking that with a grain of salt but what did you do?

What did you buy your ebike this week?

Any idea of price difference between the two & will we mortals be able to tell the difference on the trail?

    Bigger brake discs/rotors

Yeah I can't believe that I'm afraid. I've just changed from 203 to 220 & the only difference really is it locks up quicker - there's no discernable feeling of increased braking. On the front, yes I can feel there is more stopping power but on the rear it is purely heat dissapation & less wooden...
