I bought my bike with its EP8 motor on 22/07/21 and updated it then with the E-Tube app. I have not updated it since. It works very well. It has been through three winters and it is still working perfectly. I keep reading reports of owners having problems after an update. Don't fix what isn't...
OUCH!
The first time I felt your pain, I removed the pin from the centre of the leading edge of the pedal, both sides of each pedal. Now when the pedal hits my shin, although it still hurts like hell, at least the pin does not take a gouge out of my shin.
I agree with everything that @timo2824 wrote about the motor. :) Except I won't be taking mine apart.
Mine's an EP8, not the 801 but is very close in design and performance.
Mine lives in the garage. Due to a mistake by the builder, it has fully insulated walls. I have insulated the doors. Consequently, it seldom goes below 8 degC even in winter and it no longer gets too warm even in Summer, once I'd done the doors. I have been storing and charging emtbs in there...
I prefer to start off left foot forward on a sailboard, but the wind direction decides for me. Right foot forward on a bike. But as the sail/ride develops, I switch from one to the other as conditions require. Neither felt/feels odd (I don't sail anymore).
It had never occurred to me that this...
Thanks @ebikerider. The fork is a Fox 38 and it has the pressure relief valves on the lowers that are supposed to obviate the need for the zip tie trick. But it's so easy to do I might as well give it a go, it worked on a Pike 5-6 years ago.
I did all that and heard the squelching/sucking sound but only once. After that the compression and pull up felt a lot looser and easier. Great stuff! I reassembled and inflated the fork in stages as required. No change, still got the lost travel!! :(
The fork has been serviced by TFTuned...
Just found this thread searching for "lost 10mm travel on my Fox 38".
I will get back out to the garage and follow what @Evolution Stu recommended.
Step 1: Depressurise the fork slowly whilst equalising as you go down.
Step 2: Remove the air cap completely.
Step 3: Remove wheel and refit axle...
It has always puzzled me why it is legal to buy a business with debt and then load all that debt onto the business that has just been bought. Effectively a business has been bought free of charge. A bit of financial engineering follows and the purchasers ride off into the sunset with a...
I used to think protective gear was unnecessary until I started bleeding!
I bought my first mtb and booked a skills course that started the day after. I only bought a helmet because it was a condition of the course. The day after the course I was enthused by my new skills and I was gung-ho. On...
The new buyer "doesn't want the staff!" They may have no choice in the matter!
In the UK, there exists employment legislation called the "Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations" or TUPE for short. If a business is bought, then TUPE says that the staff and all their...
A hot pork pie covered in hot mushy peas, with mint sauce! In a bowl, not on a plate.
Yum, yum! It was a local delicacy in the part of the UK where I grew up.
Not had it for years. Must do something about that. :giggle:
