Hi all. I joined the 22 Levo club yesterday. I had no plans of replacing my 18 Meta Power but the S6 Levo just fits in a way no other bike ever has. A local shop had an alloy comp on the floor and I went in for a test ride. That was an expensive test ride.
The only fit adjustment has been move...
I've got an S6 Alloy comp on hold locally. I had no plans on buying a new bike to replace my 2018 Meta Power, but for the first time in 30 years of riding I felt like a bike actually fit without any major fit mods. What was your previous ride and have you encountered any down sides of such a...
Hi all
I've done a little searching but have been unable to get these questions answered.
I'm currently riding a 2018 Meta Power. I've put 2000 single track miles on to date. It's been rock solid reliable. Until last week I wasn't even considering changing bikes, then I rode a new Levo Alloy...
I’m 6-6 and am about to pull the trigger on an S6. I got a chance to take one for a car prak spin and it felt great. I should try a S5 before I decide.
I have a 2018 meta power and have nothing but good things to say about Commencal USA and warranty issues. It sounds like the root of your issues are environmental and short of moving or figuring out a humitiy/salinity control it will continue. I have a good friend that live on Maui and alway...
I wanted to chime back in and share another update. I broke the frame on my Meta Power recently. I think it was more of a manufacturing issue than a design or engineering problem. A crack developed right a the base of the upper seat tube weld. Here's the thread if you are interested. Broken...
I got word from Commencal that I didn't need to send the frame back after all. I needed to send them proof it was destroyed. Which is great as not I have an extra rear triangle and linkage just incase. There's a strange feeling to taking a sawzall to your bike. Since I had the opportunity I...
1 ride so far on the new frame. Any it's much quieter that the broken one. I have a feeling the "seat" creek I had be hearing for a while might not have been the seat clamp/post after all.
Looks like the duties got all sorted. The replacement frame arrived yesterday. I’m almost done with the swap. I have to say I was a bit nervous about doing the frame swap but it has been the easiest bike build I have ever done by far. With the motor removed there is so much access for the...
I could, but I’d rather not potentially loose my money. As much as I want to get back to riding I’m hemorrhaging money on another project right now and have not worked in 4 months.
Another update. The frame was shipped out last week and scheduled to be delivered to me on Tuesday 7/14. Monday 7/13 I got an invoice from DHL for $267us to pay for import duties. I contacted Commencal ASAP and was told by someone in Andorra “we will take care of that it won’t cost you...
Got the call today from Commencal USA that there is a replacement frame being shipped from Europe. Hopefully I’ll be riding again in little more than a week.
Still waiting to find out if there is a frame available for me. I did hear back from Commencal USA yesterday with a request from the "engineers in europe" They wanted to see a photo of me on the bike as well as photos of the seat post out of the bike. I'm not sure why the wanted to see me on the...
Hi guys wanted to share what I discovered as I was getting ready for a ride today. Looks like I'll find out what the warranty process is like. Chatting with the guys at Commencal USA on the phone made is sound like a smooth process assuming they can find an XL frame to send me. I really don't...
How many miles and what sort of conditions are you riding? I put my eddy's on in October ride mostly loamy rooted single track 2-3 days a week and my tires still look new compared to yours.
Do you have any issue with tire sealant leaking through the casing between rides?
I’m in the same boat. My stock formula hub has spun 2 freehub bodies in the last 200 miles. I’m leaning strongly towards the DT 350 Hybrid as it seems to be affordable and beefy.
