I’m intrigued too, I could never understand why Pines was a red route other than to entice people to the area.
Saying that, I thought the same about Dalby until I took a work colleague, lost count of the amounts of off’s he had and he hasn’t been on his bike since!!
If it’s ok, I’ll tentatively...
Try loosening the mech bolt, give it a twang and it may spring into its proper position, if not Try adjusting the ‘b’ screw, this should push the mech further out.
I ride (pre c19) this area quite a lot on enduro bike, it’s very rocky, would definitely want a full suss bike if your riding a majority of off road trails.
If your using a shuttle / guide company why not use a ‘normal’ bike? Either hire or take your own.
If your looking at a coaching break...
5.10 freerides are pretty soft shoes generally, on long rides and descents my feet would hurt after a while, free rider pro’s helped a bit but only delayed the issue.
Since switching to Northwave Clan shoes my feet have been fine, there’s no noticeable loss of grip and they appear to be more...
Other than self shuttling, one of the main reasons for getting an ebike was for big days out in the hills / mountains.
So a second 625wh battery was purchased along with a fast charger. My thinking being I could plan routes with lunch stops and rest breaks at cafes and pubs along the way asking...
A tool? por qué?
I use an old m5 hex key bit, it’s small enough to carry with me, does the job perfectly, is dirt cheap and I have a ton of them kicking about.
I have one, I found it pretty comfortable on 40 ish mile rides.
Unfortunately it snapped right across the middle after only c.500 miles
I’ve snapped rails before when landing hard on the back of the seat but never had one break in this way before.
would have expected much more from it tbh.
Contact Hope, they offer a “brake service” service, not used myself (I service my e4/v4’s regularly) but a mate used them when he damaged a piston and they came back like new, with new pads, pistons etc, think it was about £60 or 70
Take a look at Pedalnorths website, they have a number of routes around Yorkshire dales, varying lengths and technical levels. Riding the dales is much better than Gisburn, unless the weather is bad. Most routes around the dales are open and exposed with little chance of shelter ??
BPW do charge on entry, and for your payment you receive a sticker to put around your bars. PRe Covid you could buy single uplifts if there was space on the vehicle. But you would still pay the park fee.
To apply a pay per run policy to other park users is impractical and impossible to police as...
Are you not aware of the extra charges for ebikes when you pre book at BPW? It’s there in black and white and you choose to sign up.
Profiteering? With out doubt.
However, when pedalling up on my enduro bike I manage 4 climbs and am pretty beat.
Last month I had a day on ebike pedalling and a...
You guys travel light....
I have an osprey tool roll (came with one of my packs). I switch this between packs and waist pack.
In this I have:
Multi tool with chain splitter.
Tyre plugs and applicator.
Various cable ties.
Spare gear cable!
Short length of gear cable c. 100mm long (this can be...
I was up Dalby on Sunday, 22 miles / 4400 feet of descending.... was pushed for time so only 1 battery. With 2 those figures double and it becomes a proper day out.
I don’t ride the red route except a couple of the climbs, I’ll have to try it sometime, maybe the ebike adds some fun?
I had a similar issue with x2 shock,
I have 4 shock pumps and could only get one of them to screw on slightly. The valve is too close to the frame brace.
I got over it initially by using a Topeak valve extender from CRC but they don’t appear to stock them now. That was short lived though as it...
Had mine a few months now, I agree the pack is quite comfortable when you are wearing it but you do feel it after a long day.
I used an Osprey bladder from one of my other backpacks and the routing caused the hose to disconnect from the bladder due to the angle. It looks like a horizontal or...
Been riding mtb a similar length of time, bought my 1st ebike a couple of months ago, actually bought it to get my mrs back on a bike (bad arthritis in her knee) but figured I would spend a bit more and get one I would benefit from too.
Loved it on my first ride but didn’t think it would replace...
After loosening all bolts and re-torqueing i’ve now had 2 rides on the Ebike.
1st ride was t see what I can get out of the battery as much as to make sure nothing came loose.
42 miles and almost 800m of climbing later 8% battery remaining. I used tour mode on the flat and emtb mode on the hills...
Thanks for the tip.
I’m currently using a cut up tyre fixed with Velcro to protect the down tube and left it flapping a bit at the bottom to offer a little protection to the motor case without covering it. It looks like I may have to look at making something with aluminium as mentioned above.
