Unanswered Have I broken my derailleur??

Hey everyone, is there anyway to tell from these pics what I’ve done to my derailleur?? I managed to break my hanger bracket on the weekend which I’ve replaced but now my derailleur seems to be bent, broken or completely mal adjusted..

Any ideas or suggestions would be much appreciated- I’m at a loss without my bike, it’s the only thing keeping me sane during lockdown…

Try loosening the mech bolt, give it a twang and it may spring into its proper position, if not Try adjusting the ‘b’ screw, this should push the mech further out.

You might have mis-assembled it.

Try to loosen it and move the lower shiny part as illustrated here.
It need to be horisontal....

Yup, miss assembled. Unscrew the bolt where it attaches to the hanger. The first section (sort of like the derailleurs own hanger) should be mounted more horizontally rather than vertically. When you go to re-attach there should be a small metal nub which sticks out which will align it and hold it in place.
