Is Bosch the most reliable motor?

From my limited experience of just 2 ebikes both Cubes the first being a 2017 hard tail and the present one is a 2019 stereo 160 sl both of course with Bosch Motors. The first motor failed at 2140 miles and was replaced without any problems and with a new 2 year warranty. This was the usual...

    Bosch CX performance motor failed

Mine had done 2.1k miles when the bearings went very noisy very quickly. New motor fitted with no quibbles. New motor has still only done 400 miles as I use my new bike most of the time it also very quiet even more than the original motor when it was new.

Any other Cube Stereo 160 owners?

Your supplier should supply a UK power lead as standard. Both my Cubes had the lead in the box along with the EU lead. I purchased the same bike in Feb as it seemed the best value for the money, I fell off it within 300yards of the shop when having to stop at a roundabout due to me forgetting...

Cube Stereo 160 SL or Giant Trance +1

I have just written a long missive about I phones and tech in general and deleted it having realised I got the post all wrong at first sight. I do have a basic phone with a camera which suits me fine. Nearly had to get an I phone when I was close to buying a Giant. I prefer a compact digital...

Cube Stereo 160 SL or Giant Trance +1

Hi everybody, Finally picked up the new bike today Cube stereo 160sl and promptly fell off within 200 yards of the dealer. I forgot that I had the dropper right up and when I had to stop at the first roundabout I was a little short in the leg and toppled onto the pavement MOST embarrassing even...

    Introducing myself

Hi Alan, Like you I am an oldie at 68 and only came to E mountain biking after having a stroke and being unable to drive or more importantly not being able to ride motorcycles. Sold a car and two bikes and went and brought a Cube hardtail for what I thought was a stupid amount of money. More...

Cube 140 Stereo Dilemma - help needed

The cube stereo 160 race is £3,599.00 list price this is from memory. The top stereo 160 Action team is over 5k and is a good looking bike and a better spec than some dearer bikes. I am due to collect my new bike at the weekend I settled on a stereo 160sl list price £4099.00 this after a lot of...

Cube Stereo 160 SL or Giant Trance +1

The 140 tm is a very good looking bike it's even better looking in the flesh, but £500.00 more than the 160sl I settled on, perhaps next time when Bosch bring out their new motor.

Cube Stereo 160 SL or Giant Trance +1

I would like to keep the warranty going for the two years as I had a new motor fitted to my present bike under warranty with no quibbles due to very loud bearing noise after 2.5 k miles and the new one is super quiet better than the original.

Cube Stereo 160 SL or Giant Trance +1

I don't think dealers part ex, I have never seen second hand bikes in dealers I have been to. I am a newcomer of 2 years to cycling so perhaps the more experienced members will shed some more light on the subject.

Cube Stereo 160 SL or Giant Trance +1

Hi again, The deed has been done and a deposit paid. Could not force a big discount as the 160 sl in large has sold out and with Cube there will be no other deliveries but the store had one left at another branch so it will be with me next weekend a lot quicker than I thought. It will be set up...

Cube Stereo 160 SL or Giant Trance +1

Thanks for all your replies and advice, I have looked hard at the 140 action team and it is a better colour scheme but it is a bit more expensive and surprisingly according to the Cube site slightly heavier although it would not notice when riding. As regarding the longer travel on the 160 I...

Cube Stereo 160 SL or Giant Trance +1

Looking around 4k or a little bit more, The cube is £4099. Giant £4299. The Cube has Shimano gears and brakes the Giant has sram, also the cube has a Fox dropper so I am leaning towards the Cube. I have checked out most of the bikes in the price range and the Cube seems to be the best value for...
