Had my Rail 5 now for a couple of months. Absolutely love it. I originally ordered the 7 but my LBS couldn't get hold of it for a few months. Glad I downgraded and saved a bit of money. I preferred the matt black / olive but loved the spec of the 7.
Had the bike fully Shack Wrapped before I...
Just fitted the Crud XL to the front. Looks like a good piece of kit. Knocked a lower guard up from the old front to stop all the crap getting in the pivot. Won't stop my ass getting covered though.
I've washed mine multiple times as the weather is shocking. I normally get the hose on it as soon as I get back with the battery on the bike.
Clean as normal. Dry it down with a large microfiber cloth. Remove the battery and get the dirt out from battery cover. Dry it off and stick it in the...
I'm lucky. My LBS is around the corner from Shack Wrap. Shack picked my bike up from the shop before I'd even seen it, dropped it back off all wrapped ready to go. Amazing job. Frame forks and crank.
I know your pain. It was a ballache getting the tyre on. Managed it after after a few swear words and a good wrestle. See how I get on with it at weekend.
I've just switched my rear to a Tannus insert and tube combo. It was originally tubeless. I've read great things about them. I'm going to keep my front tubeless for the moment. For some reason it never behaved well tubeless. It will be less messy when coming to change tyres.
I still carry a...
I'm
I can't find the weight specs anywhere. I know if I get a spare it will be a 500. That would be plenty for a big day out. Yes you'd have to get a matching battery cover and the clips and end caps.
Yes it definitely will fit. Mine just has a spacer in it. I could swap to a 625 with ease. Don't know how easy it will be to fit the battery cover on if you use the spare battery I've not really looked how it all fits together.
My Rail 5 comes with the 500w battery. How would the bike shop not know that. All other Rails come with the 625w. I've still not managed to kill the 500w yet. Did 35 miles last week with 4800ft climbing still had a bar left.
Definitely a risk leaving with 2 bar's. The 5 has the 500wh. The main reason I was going for the 7 was the bigger battery even though I did like the Olive on the 5.
Looking at the Strava summary. It's a decent ride. Had bursts of Turbo here and there. Mostly in ECO. Only used 2 bars over that...
I originally was down for the Rail 7. My LBS couldn't get it until March. I opted for the lower spec Rail 5 as I was itching to get out. To be honest the Matt black and olive is a great combo.
Before picking it up I had the brakes changed to the Shimano MT501/520 as I didn't like the look and...
They originally offered me the 10% off. I went to my LBS to see if they would match it, which they did. I'd sooner use my LBS as it's only a mile away if there's any issues. They're also a Bosch Service Centre. Well done on getting that deal.
Thanks for the info. How did you get it under 4K. I thought I did well getting 10% off the retail for a new bike where did you get yours ? My LBS offers a free service after 4 weeks or so. Can't wait. Hopefully it should land soon.
So the Scott went to a new home today. The deposit has been put down on the Rail 7 as below. The LBS knocked 10% off to match another offer. Happy days. Can't wait for my 1st EMTB.
Thanks for everyone's input.
