my mate wanted to go for a decent ebike ride with me last week to see what all the buzz was about, so he rented a KTM Kapoho for NZ$75 (thats around $37.50 UK Pounds) for a day and away we went for a 40 kilometre mixed terrain ride. Seems pretty reasonable to me but that's here in Wellington...
yeah I went from a Maxis Rekon on the back of my Focus Jam2, to 27.5/2.8 Eddy Current. No noticeable difference in drag. Run out of my first battery in within 100 metres either way of where I always ran out on the Rekon (approx 27kms into my regular Hilly ride), times almost identical. Running...
your 50k rides, will have to turn into 60k rides, then 70k rides, then 80k rides, e.t.c. you are wasting your time (and money) looking for short cuts, it makes no difference if you are riding a road bike, a gravel bike, a hard tail or a full susser, just gotta put the time and k's in
Yep .HPR is correct. both batteries are completely independent, so you choose which one you want to use first. I normally alternate so that both get regular full cycle charges.
Summer about done here in New Zealand and the trails starting to get quite wet. My Maxxis Rekon Rear was getting pretty worn so replaced it on Saturday with a Eddy Current (27.5 x 2.8). Done 2 rides so far over very mixed terrain. 55kms and 25kms. this thing is way more grippy on the trails than...
This Mornings ride: 54.1km according to Strava (bike showed 59km). 1,161m climbing. Time moving = 2hrs 37minutes. About 80% in Trail, 10% in Boost and 10% in Eco. Ran the integrated battery flat then 12km range remaining in Trail Mode on my TEC pack. Temperature about 12-13 degrees celcius and...
Just bought an Eddy Current for my rear at literally half the price of DHR. Gotta be worth a look as I head into winter in New Zealand. have been running the original Rekons up till now but rear is about buggered and probably should have been changed a couple of weeks ago but I just havent got...
i'm 114kg and have a Focus Jam2. Yes I have the shocks pumped up close to max. I have done 2100km on mine so far. Ride a mix of Road, river trails, fire roads, single track including "Blue, downhill" (Flow K , Upper Hutt, New Zealand is my local, check it out on youtube). So far I have not...
thats the one Rob. I'm in New Zealand and riders at this end of the Planet (NZ, Australia e.t.c.) would probably need a definitive answer to this question before we would order a bike that MAY have to go back to Germany each time there was an issue. Thats definitely not the case with my Focus Jam2.
Range varies a lot. On roads with just slight rises, riding with my "roady" mate on his road bike, I got 71km per battery which I reckon is pretty good (ECO mode). Considering the 378wh batteries. Some real steep hills in boost I can flatten a battery in about 16ks, so lot of variance depending...
