    Review 2021 Trek Rail 7

The Bike: Manufacturer: Trek Model: Rail 7 Model Year: 2021 Price Paid: $5200 New/Used: Used Score (out of 10): 9 Review: After reading the positive reviews of the Trek Rail 7 (EBike MTB 2020 shootout winner, The Loam Wolf and Rob Rides EMTB both rated the Trek Rail highly) I...

Review 2021 Intense Tazer MX Pro

Went for a cold (25F) ride today! First ride on my 2021 Intense Tazer MX Pro at Alum Creek Phase 2 (local trail). Still loving the Ohlins suspension: plush and absorbing over the frozen choppy ground. I like the handling and feel of the Tazer Mullet layout (29" FR/27.5" RR wheels) and...

Review 2021 Intense Tazer MX Pro

Here is my logic: My first E-MTB was a 2017 Trek Powerfly 8 FS. The battery was mounted high on the downtube giving it a funny handling feel (that I adapted to). The Trek PF got me hooked on e-bikes. That bike would be a 7 out of 10. My next e-MTB's were an '18 and then '19 Specialized Levo...

Review 2021 Intense Tazer MX Pro

I have seen both of those videos and from my own experience I have noticed the infamous Shimano motor rattle noise under no load (EP8 worse than the 7000 motor on my own bikes). Suspension wise I find little to complain about with the Ohlins units found on the Tazer MX Pro (especially the DH 38...

Review 2021 Intense Tazer MX Pro

Yes interesting to see E-MTB's parked next to dirtbikes at motorcycle shops. It can make a motocross bike look fairly cheap....2021 Tazer MX Pro MSRP $7999 parked next to a 2022 Honda CRF250R at $8099...the Honda has a battery too for e-start! Husqvarna, Yamaha, Ducati, Gas Gas all offering...

Review 2021 Intense Tazer MX Pro

I've not seen a Ducati e-MTB in person but a buddy of mine recently saw one at a motorcycle shop in Denver and sent me the picture below and it does have that beefy downtube like the Intense...

Review 2021 Intense Tazer MX Pro

Shimano 504Wh battery. It is an external style battery mounted inside the downtube (one of the reasons the downtube looks to fat!). Easy to remove with an access cover and keyed lock......

Yes a darker color does help hide the wide downtube....my Tazer Expert

Review 2021 Intense Tazer MX Pro

Yes the 504wh battery can be a limiting factor for some riders with the Tazer. I have a '22 Levo Expert with 700wh and never worry about range though I've not run out on my 504wh yet either as my rides tend to be around an hour or slightly less.

Review 2021 Intense Tazer MX Pro

The large lower downtube is not so attractive (I think ugly might be a better description!). However I can understand how Intense packaged an off the shelf developed battery pack that would be easily removeable in that downtube - a decision which probably allowed them to put money saved on the...

Review 2021 Intense Tazer MX Pro

    2020 Ultralight Levo rumors

I heard from a LBS that a small group of dealers have already seen and ridden the all new Levo SL and as usual are sworn to secrecy. This Levo SL will come in around 38 lbs and basically keeps the current Levo carbon frame and 150mm travel. The weight reduction is primarily in the smaller...

Question about Mission Control and '18 Levo

I bought a barely used "demo" 2018 Turbo Levo from my LBS this past Christmas. I thought the power was similar if not a little less than my Trek Powerfly with the Bosch. When I downloaded the MC app I found the assist in each mode was turned down. This LBS did not have much experience with...

    Comp Carbon or just Comp?

I have a 2018 Levo Comp in aluminum and 2019 Trek Powerfly 9.7 in carbon. I prefer the better bump absorption of the carbon frame - subtle difference but noticeable to me. The carbon is visible on certain colors of the Specialized carbon Levo models (a demo 2018 Carbon Comp I rode yesterday...

    2019 Turbo Levo Owners Thread

I recently picked up a new 2018 Turbo Levo Comp and it did the same thing - cut out around 16 mph. Had to have the dealer do a "forced" software update on bike using the dealer's Turbo Studio hook up. Still starts to cut out a little over 18 mph. Easy to see the electric support using the...
