Question about Mission Control and '18 Levo

I'm interested in an '18 Levo locally and I've been emailing this person requesting the battery health (cycles) and they have "no idea" what I am talking about. I mentioned that the battery info is on the Mission Control App. They have no idea what that is and they've owned the bike for a year and it just "doesn't suit their style". Are there folks owning Levo's who don't use the Mission Control App and just drive around their Levos never having known about the App? I'm trying to sense if this is a scam... Let's say it is not - can I check the bike out and determine it's battery health? Put the app on my phone, bring a USB chord?

I don’t use MC on a daily basis as I use BLEvo but I do have the app and use it to check diag’s as you rightly allude to.

Because the seller doesn’t, doesn’t necessarily sound like they’re trying to have you over but is a bit weird, in my opinion anyway. However, I’m a nerd ? and others are not ?

Download the app on your phone and when you go and see the bike just turn it on, open the app and connect to it - it really is that simple.

You’ll then be able to check the total mileage (via motor diags) and battery health & charging cycles (via battery diags)

Good luck!

Thanks! Yeh they seem willing to meet me but I guess I thought if someone spent $5k on a bike wouldn't they know about MC? Or if they are selling be willing to get the App just to give out the diagnostic info to prospective buyers? A bit strange... I'll report back...

I know plenty of owners that do not use MC.
This owner ‘could’ be non technical.
Just so you know you don’t need to use MC for the bike to work in ‘default’ mode.
However, to be on the safe side do as Stumpy suggests if you are going to physically see the bike to be on the safe side. If they won’t let you connect to the bike I suggest you run for the hills.

I bought a barely used "demo" 2018 Turbo Levo from my LBS this past Christmas. I thought the power was similar if not a little less than my Trek Powerfly with the Bosch. When I downloaded the MC app I found the assist in each mode was turned down. This LBS did not have much experience with Levo's (they have only sold a couple) so it does not surprise me that some Levo owners may have never used MC app.

I used the app once or twice when I first got the bike to set the power levels and haven’t turned it on since. It’s a little surprising that an owner would have no knowledge of the app at all even if they haven’t used it though.
