Very cool looking bike, very curius how to gearbox will hold up to heavy trail use. Drives like that often use non metal gears, i hope they will hold up. It is definitely not the type of bike i would go for, i love turbo on trails, even it is overkill a lot of the time.
250w nominal does not mean anything, there is no limit on the maximum output. Yet.
It is not unthinkable the next e-bike limitation will be on maximum motor wattage instead of nominal.
The Complete Guide: Haibike 2019 Electric Bike Range
According to this for 2019 Yamaha will get an intergrated battery and a new screen.
Also they are talking about econnect for bosch and yamaha in habikes as retrofit. Sounds interesting.
If it is only on the first powerstroke i would think something is shifting under power, then shifting back when you stop pedaling. I'm not familiar with the brose motor but have you checked all the mounting bolts for the motor?
Pressure washer has a very high chance of getting water into parts that cannot deal with it. Just use a hose and a brush, works great.
If you do want to risk it, a pressure washer requires a not insignificant amount of energy, so you will either need a very big inverter + instalation (big...
Besides, just a torque figure does not say much, at what rpm does it deliver that? If for instance you get 120nm at 40 rpm but only 50 remains at 90 rpm a motor is much less usefull than one that delivers 80 nm from 10-100rpm.
I think it really depends on where you use the bike. In the Netherlands, were hill is a foreign word and mountains are clouds, no you really do not need more power. Turbo on a cx is already overkill.
In the Swiss alps? Making very steep climbs? Power could be usefull.
Then again, it is not just...
You basically have a few camps, some use model specific battery's such as Specialised and others use motor specific battery's such as Bosch and Yamaha.
Specialised for instance has (90% sure here) backwards compatability for models dating at least 5 years back in their turbo models.
Bosch...
There is no way in hell a derestricted factory eMTB will do 40 mph on flat ground. More like 25 mph in good conditions, maybe get it up to 30 for a short stint.
Now this topic is in the derestricted section you will not be judged as harshly as in the “mainstream” forum.
This is the dark...
I can see why you got confused, looking at it, your headset is probably tapered but your stem is not. Makes sense, since it is a tapered headset on the higher level bikes with the same frame.
I have Nobby Nics in 29x2.6 front and rear, ran 15 psi last weekend, tons of grips but could feel the front folding over on fast turns. I'll probably pump up the front to 20 ish and check next time. So far no reason for me to go 27.5 on the rear.
At no point in the vid i thought it was too dangerous, those trails are more like standard bikepaths from the looks of it. I think it is way more dangerous to sit at home not exercising. Great vid, good share!
I use mine on and off road, on the roads i cannot imagine that a full sus would ride as well as a hard tail (maybe i need some seat time). I have the Haibike HardNine 7.0. Maybe one day i'll get a fully for off-road.
Advantages of this model:
Has an intergrated 500wh downtube battery
The MRS...
You can make custom riding modes on a bosch, but you need a nyon display. The downside of that is, well the big nyon display. I really like my purion and would be worried about the nyon on the trails.
Be very carefull, get it in writing otherwise there is a good chance your battery will be conficated, and even if you get it back, chances are it will take a long time.
