Yup absolutely terrible service by Fox in Australia. The shop put a boot up them multiple times then magically it was done yesterday and overnighted back to me.
Was not a very good warranty process that is for sure, I get that manufacturers get busy but once you tell a client 4 times that it...
Finally got my X2 back from Fox warranty after 4 weeks, it had:
-Full service
-Damper shaft
-Outside housing
-Bearings
-Full seal kit
Shaft was bent / deformed which caused all the damage after 2 small rides.
Let's hope it lasts a lot longer this time!
I am in the process of doing exactly the same thing. 2021 Fox X2 Performance Elite that I rode for 3 hours that lost all compression dampening, started squelching, no more lock out and the next morning leaked a heap of oil out of it. 4 weeks into my "warranty" process and I will be selling it...
I rode 40kms yesterday on a mix of down's, some xc, and some climbing, honestly could not find any negatives to it all. I dropped my stem 5mm to compensate and once you are in the sag the difference is so minimal. I was a bit concerned at first, but after the first few rides it was definitely...
I recently fitted up a set of 2023 Zeb Ultimates 170mm 44mm offset to my my 2021 E160 8000 and its the best thing I did, bike feels so much better and just eats up the rough stuff now, I also find it handles better in tighter turns than it used to. Instantly gaining PB's everywhere with only the...
Yeah that might be worth a shot, but I have given up on it, I have an i9 stem and have removed the light from the light and have run the display cable out the side vents on the bike and epoxied up the hole now.
Goodbye Bomber Z1, hello 2023 RockShox Zeb Ultimate 170mm fork!
Waiting on my X2 Performance Elite to come back from service, so the old DPX2 is back on for the moment.
I removed the light, changed the stem and spacers on my 2021 E-One Sixty 8000 a couple of months ago. I also filled the small hole on the headset cap with some part epoxy as otherwise your headset bearings will fill up with water incredibly quickly.
I fitted up an Industry Nine stem, hope...
Yup sure did have the issue.
I binned the light and removed the display cable and ran it through the side of the frame with the other cables and got some epoxy resin and filled in the hole in the cover so it stops all the dirt and water getting into the headset bearings.
Such a poor design...
Has anyone changed the headset bearings or their top cap on their 2021 E160 8000?
I am looking to remove the display cable from inside the headset and run it out of the side of the bike with the other cables as the headset cap keeps spinning, so was looking at fitting a replacement cover...
I run DT Swiss FR560, DT swiss comp spoke, industry nine hubs and cushcore, basically an indestructible combo. I opted for the 6 bolt version and fitted Magura MDR-P rotors with the Magura rotor magnet and upsized the front rotor to 220mm at the same time on my 2021 E160 8000.
Sounds like an excuse to fit a oneup 180mm dropper instead of the tiny 150mm it came with and replace the horridly placed lever that sits so far under the bar no matter how I adjust it.
Anyone else had issues with the Merida dropper being absolute crap? You sit on it and goes half way sometimes, other times the whole way down, slow to come back up. I had one on my last bike too and experienced the same thing.
Good plan, then they can re-adjust your rear mech, etc as required too after the cable has stretched a bit, etc.
Sounds like maybe a motor bolt is slighly loose, which they should go over and re-torque up for you :D
As above, go over all the bolts. Generally after a couple hundred km's the bike should go back for its first check over to the shop. They found a few things like this with my bike on the first service, but it's been mint ever since.
100% agree, all the specs are written there on the Merida website and you can even use the compare feature between the bikes to pickup on the subtle differences, I researched the crap out of my 2021 8000 model before picking it up. I was also looking for a bike for my wife and personally will...
Mine does exactly the same thing, no matter if I aim the hose away from that general area. I just usually pull the battery after a wash and wipe everything down.
