Unfortunately in Aus they don't really ever drop the prices, every so often there are deals where you get a free battery, etc.
Comp Carbon's were $12,600 AUD, they then dropped to $8999 AUD.
Anyway I pulled the trigger on a Comp Carbon after test riding one earlier this year and being super...
Looking at making the switch to a gen 3 levo from a Merida E160, the end of model savings are too good to pass up. Comp Carbons are now $3000 less in Aus.
I don't really see any need in waiting for the gen 4, considering I am sure the price will be insane
Has anyone in Australia replaced the headset bearings? Are there any that are readily available without having to order them from the UK as most of them seem to be available there.
I have a 2021 E160 8000
Cheers!
The Zeb was a great addition. I am running a 170mm with 44mm offset. No clearance issues at all!
I love tech (I work in the industry) and absolutely love my axs shifting and dropper. I love being able to simply micro adjust the shifting while riding if a gear simply doesn't want to...
New battery cover! Tightened down the battery latch to stop the god awful battery noises, removed the fox x2 and switched it up with a 2023 Rockshox Super Deluxe Ultimate Coil and all brand new pivot/shock mount bearings.
This is the best and quietest the bike has ever run! The coil is miles...
It was one of the first things I did when I picked my bike up, removed the light and routed the control cable through the vents. I then mixed up some epoxy and filled the hole in the headset cover.

Sweet! I have even had the bike setup with byb telemetry (Zeb up the front is amazing) and the back end still feels way too soft, but you add more pressure and it rides like crap.
Might go order a 2023 coil ultimate for it!
How are you finding the coil on the back? I am contemplating removing the X2 I put on mine in favour of a coil as I just don't get along with it too well.
Does anyone know what rear brake rotor adapter they run on the e160? I am looking to upgrade from the stock rear size 200mm to a 220mm rotor (already have 6 bolt wheels, etc) just not near the bike for a while and wanted to get something ordered today. I am pretty sure it has a 180-203 adapter...
So does this mean you can ditch the screen then? Seems it only lists it works with the EP801 and EP600. Would be super interested in putting this on my EP8 2021 Merida E-160 8000
Ahh well them charging you labour makes a lot more sense now, I assumed it was the shop you bought the bike from. Any bike shop would do that with any item not from them.
That is absolute BS. If you bought a Trek from a shop and it has a fault the shop should cover any troubleshooting and then deal with trek/bosch themselves, that is literally their job and why you buy a bike from a store rather than online.
Have replaced the wheels on my E160 with I9 hubs and use Sram HS2 rotors with a bolt on magnet, I had to slightly file down the metal casing for the magnet as it was just clipping the sensor on the frame, but now its perfect.
I ran my control unit cable out the right side of the bike and re-routed my rear brake through that side when I removed the standard slx's. Added an I9 Stem, One-up carbon bars and used epoxy resin to fill the stem hole. I think get the OEM Shimano cable holders for the switch wiring, doubled it...
Finally got my 2021 Fox X2 Performance Elite back from Fox Warranty after a complete rebuild, air shaft was bent, housing replaced, new bearings, new seals. Gone are the squelches!
