I track calories in MFP & Garmin Connect - and GC also links to Strava. The Garmin Edge sees the Levo as 3 ANT+ sensors, eBike, Power and Speed/Cadence. The power figure that is being broadcast to the Garmin Edge is rider power in, not bike power out. Therefore I get a reasonably accurate...
Just another advantage of Laka is that it's a monthly rolling policy, rather than annual, so if it's not working out competitive or you find something better, there's no cancellation penalty.
I have my bikes insured with Laka, not had cause to claim at all, but the premiums seem competitive (percentage of previous month claims pro-rata with your insured risk). I pay around £30-40 pcm for £11.5k cover.
It was very easy to set up the policy, upload the photos and cover seems...
Also to add to above if you’re fortunate(??) enough to be a higher rate taxpayer in the UK, then purchasing new via bike scheme such as GCI means effectively 42% off.
Ignore it and just enjoy. I still get my non-assisted miles in on my road bikes and gravel bike, also very enjoyable, but since getting my eMTB I’ve discovered so many trails & bridleways on my doorstep (Dorset, UK) that I never even knew existed after nearly 50 years of living here. All traffic...
You ae quite possibly correct - however the only way I could get my 2019 Levo to talk to my Edge 1030 and display battery & mode was to use Jan Capek's app from the Connect iQ store.
... it's not - the photo you show is the native ebike screen standard on the device, and it only works with Shimano STEPS (I believe). The 3rd party eBike Field app only works with the Levo as far as I know, and this is the field you need to install, configure and display. The Shimano screen is...
Have you definitely got the correct eBike Field (Connect iQ app) working? That screen is only for Shimano STEPS bikes, so you may as well disable that one in settings as I don't think it works for battery, assistance level, etc. on a non-shimano bike. Install the eBike field Connect iQ app on...
Six of one, half a dozen of the other, the 520 has been out since 2015, so tried & tested software, but hasn't been updated for ages and will probably seem slow compared to new models, 130 is the newer generation (along with 530, 830, 1030) and is still current and will still receive software...
Something like this (I don't have a 130 but it will be similar to the 1030)
1. Go into Settings, Sensors, Add sensor
2. Switch on bike
3. Add all that appear in the list (assuming you have no other awake ANT+ devices in range) - make a note of the device ID of the eBike when the Garmin finds...
Well that happened quickly, good luck with it, it looks like a great device (I’ve had/got 520, 820, 1030).
Come back if you need any help, but they’re easy to set up and very good.
OK the Spesh unit wasn’t really a recommendation, just a low cost way of achieving bike metrics on the bars.
With the Garmin, you need either install & configure the linked app on it or the official Specialized Turbo one (I prefer the unofficial one, it seems more reliable and is updated more...
