Laka Insurance - anyone in the UK using them? Made a claim?

So thankfully I checked my contents insurance and was unpleasantly surprised to see that expensive pedal bikes are covered on my policy... unless they have a pedal assist motor!

Obviously I am now in the market for Bike only cover (don't want different home contents as well, e.g PedalCover).

Very intrigued by the model Laka is using, seems a lot more like what insurance was meant to be! Would love any insights or experiences people can share about them (or any other UK bike specific insurers).

I have my bikes insured with Laka, not had cause to claim at all, but the premiums seem competitive (percentage of previous month claims pro-rata with your insured risk). I pay around £30-40 pcm for £11.5k cover.

It was very easy to set up the policy, upload the photos and cover seems inclusive too. Locks only required when out of the house or locked vehicle, accident also included.

Let me know if you want a referral code for £25 credit.

Just another advantage of Laka is that it's a monthly rolling policy, rather than annual, so if it's not working out competitive or you find something better, there's no cancellation penalty.

I would strongly avoid!

When my bikes were stolen was covered by these, or so I thought, they did everything to weasel out of paying, kept me waiting a year before they turned down the claim all the time I had to continue monthly payments of £90.

You only find out how good an insurance company is when you need to claim. Bikmo are shit.

I'd be interested in a referral code if still available?

Cheers
