I wouldn't call some taps with a wood piece brute force :) But If I could start over, I would just cut the small 34t in 2x17t, it's useless anyway. The 38+ fit over everything without touching anything.

I don't understand this product. I ride a bike with 11-46t 10sp HG, 38t chainring and another with 10-51t 12sp XT, 34t chainring. An good mix would have been a microspline 10-51t ish 10sp, keeps topspeed and the 51t for climbs. With a double-up and double-down shifter, of course.

Most people here advocating against carbon - pro alu or against alu - pro carbon, need a 5mm thick steel frame I think.
