The stand up pushes the side plates out as well. Water will/may get in but it’s only a cover so it’ll run straight through the bottom drain hole. It’s not a perfect seal even when seated correctly as standard. my Stand Up plate has taken so many hits , it looks look a robot wars loser, so...
