I'm approaching 50hrs on a Rockshox super deluxe shock, and according to the manufacturer it needs an aircan service. My last shock I just took apart, cleaned, regressed and reassembled. Rockshox reccomend replacing some of the seals as well every 50hrs.
Bike is used for occasional light...
I ordered a few items from them without issue, until one just didn't turn up but was marked as received. No signature or anything, just marked down as delivered. Not left anywhere or with neighbours etc. Emailed asking them to look into it and got the same response as you. Nothing to do with...
I'm a little bit sad, and have tracked the cost of my bike. At the moment it has just over 2.5k miles on it. Current costs work out at £3.40 per mile and £52 per hour of moving time.
That assumes no remaining value in the bike and includes upgrades such as new fork, shock, a couple of spare...
Just better availability of motors would help too. I spent 2 months waiting for a shimano motor, someone else I know is still waiting from March! Apparently you can't even buy a motor on its own from shimano, you have to get a dealer to order one in and they can only do that if they're replacing...
I'd class the bike as the frame really. All the other parts are swappable / consumable items, including the motor. There is also very little maintenance you can do on the Shimano motors to prolong their life as they're sealed units (yes, you can replace the bearings, but I'd not class that as...
I've gone through probably 5+ sets of pads (resin) on shimano rotors and they still have plenty of life left in them. Think they're currently 0.17mm from worn which is basically new.
How much difference did you find between the 2 and 4 pot calipers? I'm thinking of doing the same, but it looks like there is only a 10% change in stopping power which doesn't sound like a massive amount?
It shouldn't do. If you just read the information and don't change any of the settings it is very unlikely they can tell you have used the app.
I've had a successful warranty claim after changing and then setting back settings. Like everything there are no guarantees, but I would say you're...
Can you buy the EP8 motor? It seems you can get hold of the E8000 but not the EP8 or E7000 from my understanding.
Something else to think of is that the motor covers probably won't fit the EP8
I was told by my LBS who is a shimano service center it affects the torque sensor, so if not set correctly will give either too much or too little power under normal mode.
Not convinced it alters the walk mode power based on gradient, but could well be wrong! That's just based on them not being...
Interesting, thanks. I can't imagine it would be that difficult to reverse engineer the protocols between the battery and bike and make a new BMS. There just probably isn't the demand (yet, at least) to make it commercially viable.
The same as shimano so I read in another thread.
A great pain and a shame as that was always my plan. I guess it may be possible if you kept power applied to the bms when replacing cells?
Thats a good shout. I was surprised it managed to shear the chain about 10 links up too. If I hadn't have managed to find that bit and bodge it back together I'd have had a long walk!
Was thinking to take a spare chain when I go on long rides, but a short section sounds a far better option...
