I was in the market for an ebike last summer. I wanted the lightest ebike on the market, so the clear choice for me was a Levo SL. My LBS did not have any in stock to ride, but I ordered one straight away. I've put 700 miles on it since August. Best money I've ever spent.
I weight-weenied my Levo SL to 35 lbs. Sold my Stump jumper to help pay for it. So I use my SL as an analog bike or an ebike due to the relatively light weight. One bike is all I need.
Ditched my RE's after the first week. Never been a Sram brake fan. Went with Hope tech 3 E4s with Hope floating disc rotors. (Levo SL). Soooo much better.
From PineBike Rise review:
"A three-stage gearing system with six gears is optimized for the high RPMs of the motor and utilizes efficient reduction gears to allow for the motor's compact design. A one-way clutch delivers smooth engagement while reducing drag for a natural riding feel. Said...
I ride a mountain bike to stay fit, have fun, and be in Nature. 98% of the time I ride alone. I am in good shape, 64 years old, and weight 155 lbs. I test rode a FF Levo. Not for me. Coming from a 25 lbs S-Works Stumpjumper the weight was a non-starter. Plus the power was WAY more than I...
Tried a FF Levo, bought a Levo SL. Reason being (1) I'm in good shape and want to stay that way (2) I occasionally need to lift my bike over gates and carry it up some steps (3) I preferred the SL weight and geometry on switchbacks and technical stuff.
Riding only 35% assisted up a steep climb on my SL is noticeably easier than on my 26 lbs. Stumpjumpber. For me it's all about taking the suffering out of steep climbs. Also, with some carbon parts, including wheels, my SL is under 36 lbs, so pedaling unassisted is easier than on a stock SL.
