Anyone seen or ridden one of the two Wyldbuck bikes? Seem to be Yorkshire based, using Bafang motors. Just came across them and wondering if anyone (Rob!) has been able to test one..?
I've had rubs with some folk on here, but rubbing is racing. Nobody has bothered me enough to want to ignore them, or worse, and that's from someone who is neurologically diverse and has significant mental health challenges. If I can stomach everyone, I imagine most will be able to! At the end...
I've got a 2022 Float X2 Performance Elite, which is my favourite shock of all time. Had one on a Kenevo previously and knew I needed one on this E-Sommet. Tbh, the coil thing is more like my determination to keep riding hardtails - I knew it was a dumb idea but I just couldn't shake it until...
Both knees, right ankle and right hip were injured in service. I now have little padding in the knees, so rely on quite progressive set-ups to compensate. I'd read about the increase in progression, over the original bike, so am hopeful it will work out. Worst come to worst, I could try a...
The previous posts are correct; you should really only increase the travel by 20mm absolute max, ideally just 10mm if you have to. Anything more than this will really screw with the geometry of the rest of the bike - things like seat post angle, BB height, and reach - all negatively, with not...
Anyone running a Bomber CR on a 2021/2 E-Sommet? Thinking of getting one, to try the coil ride (am hoping the leverage curve is progressive enough to accommodate my knees!), but curious as to whether the reservoir will clear the frame on bottom out. It looks like it should, but thought I'd ask...
Camelbak for longer rides, every time, but it's nice to be able to ride without a pack for the odd quick 1-2hr sesh. The bottle has a cap, to keep the crud out, it just isn't on in the photo.
I just knocked up this bracket, which allows me to fit a 620ml bottle in a Spesh Zee cage, into a small frame. I know it looks like it's contacting the shock, but that's just the angle the pic was taken at, there's around 3-5mm clearance. I just put a bit of heli-tape on the underside of the top...
Well, I am a fan of tubeless, I have to admit, but I'll just tell you why. Not long after I converted to tubeless, I was riding to a hospital appointment when I heard the dreaded HISSSS... But within two rotations of the tyre it had stopped and I carried on my way. I know for a fact that, had I...
Belter of a ride yesterday! Having to take it steady, as I've only just tested negative (last Friday), but this is literally a couple of miles from home. Loving the E-Sommet 297, it's proving to be a great bike that's right up there with my old Kenevo. I'll do a range test later in the year...
Yeah, definitely, but I bet you could find these for a lot less if you shop around too (and if there are any available anywhere!). Same as anything though, look at all the options and have a good search for the best prices on all of them, then decide what you want from there. Saying that, I'm...
As a mountain bike coach, I couldn't agree more! It staggers me just how many people will spend top dollar on upgrading their bikes, but balk at paying out for a day of coaching!!!
And you know that for a fact how..? I know that Tom rides a completely off the shelf model, becuase we have mutual riding mates and so I know there's nothing 'trick' or 'pro' about his forks. Do let me know who your source is for your info, 'cos I don't think they're particularly reliable.
Clutch mechs are infinitely better for chain retention, compared to non-clutch types. You can also buy after-market chain retention devices and may be able to find one to fit your frame/chainring/motor.
